In my views, for example list.rhtml, if I try: <%= "test" %> everything works fine. If I try: <% print "test" %> then instead of outputting the page, the browser displays the HTML source code. Any ideas on what my problem is? This is my first RoR app so it''s probably a stupid bug on my part, but my Google-fu isn''t powerful to track down

I started a php-based website a few months ago with a buddy of mine on netfirms.com. I was perusing their knowledge base and I came upon a quick-start for something called Ruby on Rails. Since then I have immersed myself in RoR. I''ve done the tutorials, I''ve purchased the books. But, I could never get even a sample RoR app to work on netfirms. 500 server errors.

I''ve have a very tight schedule project that MUST (not my option), be developed in PHP. Is there a Rails based framework for this platform?
