I have just finished installing all the pieces of Redhat Linux 9 (2.4.20-8), Asterisk-0.9.1, Gnophone-0.2.4 on my IBM T30. Audio card is SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. Not sure what the chips are. But everything works on both W/XP and RH9. (Machine is obviously dual boot) Everything starts, Asterisk is up, sound/audio is great for CD player, Volume controls, Voice recorder, RealPlayer, etc.

I have a problem with embedding R into perl. I downloaded the interface program/module from omegahat.org, and I can't seem to understand how to use it. This is all done under Win NT 4.0. A large test I ran on flac 1.0 recently finished so I thought I'd post the results. I took about 60 CDs, totalling around 30 gigs uncompressed, and compressed them all using all 10 of flac's default compression modes (-0 through -9).
