Persuing the gtalk issue - not only jack-related
Hello everyone! So I hacked app_jack.c today, as best I could. Whic came mostly down to inserting ast_log() messages. I discovered the following with JACK: When it starts, it tries to read 512 bytes and only gets 0. That clears up after a while. Sometimes a good time later than the reading comes the writing. And there the real strangeness might begin. Because usually the framebuffer

Comparing Cox model with Competing Risk model
I have a competing risk data where a patient may die from either AIDS or Cancer. I want to compare the cox model for each of the event of interest with a competing risk model. In the competing risk model the cumulative incidence function is used directly. I used the jackknife (pseudovalue) of the cumulative incidence function for each cause (AIDS or Cancer) in a generalized estimating equation. I

Detecting answer supervison from an AGI app
I've got a dumb Western Electric payphone and some homebuilt hardware to control the coin relay which is accessible to Asterisk through the AGI interface. I'd like to be able to set the state of the coin relay to collect at the end of a call if a called party answers. [Hey, I admit this project is being persued just for the fun of it ] Looking through the documentation, there is a way to

Without those patches, IPSEC and Netfilter basically don''t work together except in very simply cases. [offtopic] idea status.net
Hey all I was sitting here thinking about things and I came up with an idea that sounded, at least in my head, like a good one. There has been a boom in things like twitter and brainbird and social networking setups in general. I was wondering if the project or anyone would be interested in setting up a status.net server specifically for the CentOS project ? Why? you ask, well here are some of

Yes, the vorbis format is definately finalised (has been for well over a year, now). We've published the spec ourselves, but we're also persuing publication as an RFC, etc. While the encoder will continue to be improved, existing decoders will work without modification. The more people that ask Apple for support the better, I suppose - go ahead and ask them! Mike --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast pro...

Thank you for the suggestions, keep them coming :) To me, I think I considered pub-sub but it did not quite fit - gotta refresh my memory by code re-reading (or expert comments) - I found I'm vague now on who hits the big red button to shout that a particular power source device got critical - the upsmon in "master" role, or "upsd" that talks to all subscribed (indeed!)

Has Many :through associations
Greetings again: I''m simplifying the case I presented earlier regarding the use of has_many :through. I''m using DHH''s example from "Persuing Beauty with Ruby On Rails". Here are his models: class Author < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :authorships has_many :books, :through => :authorships end class Book < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :authorships has_many :authors, :through => :authorships end class Authorship...

heartbeat segfaulting on CentOS 5 x86_64 (xen guest)
...talk to each other (or actually one of the nodes just doesn't work even for local basic admin stuff, including a simple "service heartbeat stop") and apparently it all boils down to the following Bug in Linux-HA: http://developerbugs.linux-foundation.org//show_bug.cgi?id=1678 I'm persuing this with the linux-ha users mailing list but the bug doesn't seem to get much attention from the linux-ha developers and I was wondering whether anyone here has stumbled on it and have a work around. The strange thing is that the two noes are identical - both are CentOS 5 PV Xen guests on the...
