Ordination of feature film data question
...ltivariate analytic approaches to data from the history of motion picture films. I'd very much appreciate any pointers as to possibly appropriate proceedures. The individual "samples" may be individual films and the measurements may be the presence and absence of actors and production personel; for example two films with many actors and / or crew in common would be located close together in the resultant ordination, while films with few or no personel in common would be located far apart. May I express my appreciation in advance to any helpful recipients. cordially David Woods Dr. David...

Security question
...ng situation: I have 2 different home directories. If a user logs on to 'home directory 1', can that particular user browse into 'home directory 2' or other directories? The reason for this question is that I need a server on which can be accessed by the corporate staff and by the personel. However, the personel may not be able to gain acces to financial and other files with sensitive information. Nico Coesel

How to detect fake CallerID? (8xx?)
Seems like this is the best idea (challenge-response), a callback. No matter the callerid, you don't know where the caller is. But if you place a call BACK to the callerid, it's going to go to the destination. Then you either need the phone to be answered, or the phone to be answered and and the challenge entered. I have my samba box running as a PDC. When users login to the domain, it takes a long time (3-5 minutes). I gets to the section 'Loading Personel Settings...' and just sits there for several minutes. I've also noticed that the login.bat script only works for root, and all that does is net use h: \\samba\homes. Here's my smb.conf file. Any help would be appreciated. migrating mailboxes on dovecot
Hello all, I want to ask about something I never did before. I have a dovecot/XMail/LAMP/Horde installation on a CentOS 5.5 32-bit system with two domains : domainA and domainB All the users used to have their mailboxes on domainA. However the personell dept decided that 90% of the users will have to have their mailboxes set to domainB and the other 10% will stay at domainA. So, I need to migrate those mailboxes from domainA to domainB. The only thing is I haven't done that ever. The directory structure is : "/var/MailRoot/domains/do...

Schema Change Breaks Replication
I believe a schema change on a Windows DC (2008rc) has broken replication with our S4 DCs. Anyone have any tips or pointers to resolve this? I have three S4 DCs [CentOS6] and one Windows 2008R2 DC. The Windows 2008R2 DC has the schema master FSMO, and I believe the Exchange schema was added. I am willing to pay US dollars to get this issue resolved. I need the replication restored, the

USB Cordless
Does anyone know if X-Ten or SJPhone support multiple cordless handsets for multiple lines? I have an office with multiple roaming users(nurses) that are in and out. I'd like to provide them telephones, and my idea is to have a PC sitting in a corner somewhere running a softphone client. When a nurse comes in she just picks up any available handset(anywhere from 2-5 per office) and starts

How do I get my IT department to "bless" R?
I currently use R at work "under the radar", but there's a chance I could loose that access. I'd like to get our company to feel comfortable with open source and R in particular. Does anyone have any experience with their company's IT department and management that they would be willing to share? How does one get an all Microsoft shop on board with allowing users to user
