Centos 5.2, Xen and "/lib[64]/tls"
Hi, I'm setting up a few machines for virtualization using Xen on Centos 5.2 x86_64. A lot of how-to's out there tell me to do something like "mv /lib/tls /lib/tls.disabled" or similar actions or else Xen might not work correctly. Is this something that is still relevant or does it only apply to older versions of Xen/Centos? If this is still necessary what is the best way

OT: sendmail access
...We have to setup relaying for a person, which is connected to the internet with a dailup connection. So every x days the IP and the hostname will change. Is there a solution how to set up /etc/mail/access to relay there Emails permanent (maybe: FQDN from the 'mail from' domain, which is permantly - <ourdomain>.at?) Configure our access file with wildcards (IP: xxx.xxx.) is to insecure for us. At the moment, after there IP was changed, I also have to change the access file. Or is there another way to fix my problem. pop3 before smtp (our client fetches there emails with POP3s) i...

Probably with default library tree
...t; .libPaths(.libPaths()[2]) > .libPaths() [1] "C:/PROGRA~1/R/R-212~1.1/library" This is what I want it to say and packages are now installed where I want them to be. Unfortunately when I restar R, .libPaths() defaults back to the original two paths. So the real question is how do I permantly set my directory to be the one in which the base files are installed? Thanks in advance for your help! fitting lots of music into 10GB with Vorbis
...The audio quality has to be high enough for it to sound good when played through PA systems (for when my college is stupid enough to forget to hire a DJ, or when the realise the DJ they always hire can't use a mixing desk properly) ranging from a functional PA system thats stuck in the theatre permantly, to a seperate PA system that is very nice and is used for when we're stuck in the middle of a field. The resulting filesize of the Vorbis file has to be low enough to fit neatly onto my crappy 10GB HD (untill i can afford to buy a nice new one). I've attatched a playlist generated by Winam...

NoobyQ: how to work with a table of static lookup data??
Hello out there! Nooby question: What''s the "Rails" way to work with tables of relatively static lookup data? Objectively (I''m thinking); I don''t want to hit the DB each time, so for each lookup table, initialize a globally available hash with lable/value pairs... Am I on the right track? How would you do this kind of thing in Rails? Thanks! --

Interesting observation with network event notification and batching
Hi all I''m hacking on a netback trying to identify whether TLB flushes causes heavy performance penalty on Tx path. The hack is quite nasty (you would not want to know, trust me). Basically what is doesn''t is, 1) alter network protocol to pass along mfns instead of grant references, 2) when the backend sees a new mfn, map it RO and cache it in its own address space. With this

SPAM on List...
Re: Per the discussions about spam on this list. Sending a confirming message to an unregistered poster is not a good idea. The return/reply-to addresses in spam is forged, and that is just adding to some victims e-mail. Filtering runs the risk that a legitimate message gets lost, and the sender does not realize it. Filtering is also the most expensive and innefficient way to deal with

sendmail & mail() in php
Hello everyone, I tried to configure sendmail so that I can use mail() in php. I don't host my email server, my ISP does. I just want to configure sendmail so that it uses external email server (my ISP) to send mail. When I executed mail(), i got no error report from php. I checked /var/log/maillog and it indicated that the message was accepted for delivery. However, it didn't
