firewalld being stupid
...sn't work > for a command, then it should give an error - not silently fail > without doing anything! But --permanent *did* work. What you're seeing is the documented behavior: --permanent The permanent option --permanent can be used to set options permanently. These changes are not effective immediately, only after service restart/reload or system reboot. Without the --permanent option, a change will only be part of the runtime configuration. If you want to make a change in runtime and permanent...

Cannot authenticate the administrator account
Thanks, Rowland. I'll give it some thought. At this point, I may even go back to slackware or gentoo. It is a bit much learning all the new system tools (systemd, systemctl, firewalld, NetworkManager, etc.) while moving from a samba standalone configuration to AD/DC, DNS, Kerberos, all for the first time. I'm also considering calling Pantek.com - - - I've had some very good

A solution : dsync(someuser) Error: Mailbox GUIDs are not permanent without index files
While migrating from mbox to maildir using dsync, I kept running into a brick wall. Some folders would not sync. The message in stderr was: Error message GUID: Mailbox GUIDs are not permanent without index files. This is what solved things for me. I hope this might help someone. Let me know if I'm completely off sides. When working with dsync to migrate from mbox to maildir format mailboxes,

...configuration, the one that will be applied at startup. Another changes the current running environment without altering the startup config. From a sysadmin point of view this is desirable since changes to a running system are often performed for empirical testing. Leaving ephemeral state changes permanently fixed in the startup config could, and almost certainly would eventually, lead to serious problem during a reboot. Likewise, immediately introducing a state change to a running system when reconfiguring system startup options is just begging for an operations incident report. It may not be intuit...

Permanent flags not announced and public mailbox with per-user index
...l selecting) { [?] if (mailbox_is_readonly(client->mailbox)) { client_send_line(client, "* OK [PERMANENTFLAGS ()] " "Read-only mailbox."); } else { [?] } } Even if it's true that the Maildir is read-only, it's still possible to store \Seen permanently. Am I getting things wrong, or is this a bug? If I'm correct, a simple fix MAY be not to send the PERMANENTFLAGS at all since the RFC says: OK [PERMANENTFLAGS (<list of flags>)] A list of message flags that the client can change permanently...

permanent flags (are very permanent)
Hello, first of all i am not sure wheter this is a correct behavior according to the RFC or not... Problem is, when i set a new custom permanent flag (e.g. testflag) and remove it afterwards, the flag still stays in the list of the permanent flags of this drawer even if there are no messages left with this flag set. So the keyword list gets "polluted" with unused flags. * OK

connection state tracking with DNS [was Primary DNS...]
Hi, I would like to see this addressed. I found more information on the issue at https://kb.isc.org/article/AA-01183/0/Linux-connection-tracking-and-DNS.html Is there a firewalld solution to this issue? Unable to join domain when DC firewall is active
I'm unable to join my computer to the domain. On the domain controller, initially I only had firewall-cmd --permanent --add-service=samba but that didn't work. The computer couldn't join but when I turned off the firewall all-together I was able to join. I then tried firewall-cmd --permanent --add-service={samba,dns,ldap,ldaps,kerberos,kpasswd} but that didn't work either. Are

R Packages and Permanent Datasets creation
...e and R commander we see some packages like car and datasets. In these packages we have default datasets. For example: "Women" and "Prestige" so on. Now we created a "Sales" dataset importing either from excel, xml or text file. Now we are trying to store that dataset permanently in any one of the packages mentioned above (car or datasets). I am able to create them temporarily untill that pirticular session. But once we close the session and try to log into R Console and R Commander. We are not able to find the earlier created datasets "Sales" in the packages (...

Is there a way to save the routing table permanently?
...y to the route through "route add default gw 10.10.10.10" which is also shown in "route -n" but the problem is that as soon as I restart the network through /etc/init.d/network restart; the route sets to default one...! SO, my question is there any way to save the modified route permanently by hardcoding the changes? Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
