When I tried to mount a share folder from a pathwork vms server, I get the message 'protocol initiation failed'. I get this message since I've upgrade to the kernel version 2.4.25 and to samba 3.02a. I don't get this message with my old config (samba-2.2.28a and kernel-2.4.28). Is somethings has hanged with smbmount between these 2 release ?

Is there a limit to the number of files that can be seen through SAMBA Shares. We currently have approximately 120,000 files (and growing) under business related shares under our current Pathworks environment. With being in the process of transferring over to SAMBA we need to ensure that all the files are viewable. It may be advisable to split these shares across several disks on our UNIX environment.
