How can I make has_many prevent a delete that would lead to orphans?
...uilt into AR how might I mod AR
or something to add that functionality? Presumably some kind of call
to location.assets.is_empty? to check if the delete is going to be
allowed?

Liebert UPS, serial cable questions
Hi,
I have a Liebert GXT2-1000RT230 UPS that is connected to my server
using a serial cable.
I have no idea to what port exactly it is connected so my first
question is: how do I find out what /dev/tty** should I use?
Do I need to install a device driver for it? Where do I find it?
What should I use and how do I do so the server shuts down if the
battery level is low?

Australian Internet Filtering Position
...http://www.dontfilterme.com and
http://nocleanfeed.com/
Just trying to get a general opinion with what everyone thinks of the
filtering situation in Australia. Whether you believe its a good thing or a
bad thing or you don't really care. I'm writing a letter to an Australian MP
(Member of Parliament) and I want to get some actual opinions of what other
systems administrators think of the internet filter, even if they are not in
Australia. Not only at a technical aspect but at an opinion aspect as well.
Either reply on list or pm me. I just want to get a general idea.
Thanks,
Ryan.

his email address or telephone number on the internet. Could you help me?
Do you also know how I can contact all the justices of the Judicial

Lords? According to the UK Parliament website, it says that many Peers
do not have public email addresses.
I would like to apologize again for using this platform to get my

Thank you very much.

Basic question on applying a function to each row of a dataframe
Hi,
I have a function foo(x,y) and a dataframe, DF, comprised of two vectors, x
& w, as follows :
x w
1 1 1
2 2 1
3 3 1
4 4 1
etc
I would like to apply the function foo to each 'pair' within DF e.g
foo(1,1), foo(2,1), foo(3,1) etc
I have tried
>apply(DF,foo)
>apply(DF[,],foo)
>apply(DF[DF$x,DF$w],foo)
However, none of the above worked. Can anyone help ?
