p2p or p2mp for BRI
...channel. (We can't afford PRI line as its cost is about 10x of the
BRI). The line will be connected to the CTI card. Using asterisk server we
will be recording the calls.
I'm confused about whether we should apply for point-to-point connectivity
or point-to-multipoint. P2P costs more than P2MP and
we do not intend to invest money if not needed. I would like to ask your
advice on whether for our purpose we need p2p or would p2mp suffice?
Thanks and regards.

Who causes the congestion or can I mix?
...s for the ISDN trunk in question. Counting the active ISDN channels seems somewhat clumsy
as the mapping to a specific trunk must be done by hand (or write even more code).
I have a setup where outgoing calls normally use a P2P trunk, but if there are no free channels
the system tries a separate P2MP trunk. In case the congestion is caused by the called party,
switching to another trunks does not make any sense, so I need to find out whether my side is
causing the CONGESTION.
Has somebody tried to setup a dialgroup where P2P, P2MP, and POTS devices are all part of the
same group? This would...

Connecting quadbri to EuroISDN with 2 TE and 2 NT ports - what cables and settings ?
...g to connect quadbri between powered ISDN phone and ISDN line:
ISDN <---1---> TE - * - NT <--2--> Phone
I use quadbri, suse 9.2 and latest 0.2.0-RC7k bristuff. I've used sample
settings provided with package, but do get strange error (I think that I
have wrong setting for P2P or P2MP setting and cables 1 and 2).
If I connect phone to ISDN with straight cable it works. I've put quadbri in
between, and connected ISDN to span1 in TE mode, and phone in NT mode on
span4. Did configuration (added at the end). I get errors:

Question about EuroBRI final 2 digits
...xtension from an outside analog phone, AT sends the call before they finish
dialing all 8 digits. Is there a way to prevent this, or to catch the
additional 2 digits somewhere in the stream? The receptionist is unhappy
because she gets all the 6-digit calls and must then transfer.
Is this a p2p vs p2mp issue?
Thanks in advance,
Cassius Smith

[OT] Does Energy Savings mode exist with BRI/PtP ?
Hello,
I always thought that Energy Savings mode existed with ISDN Basic Rate
Interface in Point -to-multi-Point but it didn't with Point-to-point.
Is this correct ?
Have you ever met a public PSTN switch configured to "cut" B ISDN channels
in Point-to-point.signalling ?
Regards.

zaphfc: empty HDLC frame or bad CRC received
Hi, i've downloaded/compiled/installed the bristuffed asterisk
Asterisk 1.0.7-BRIstuffed-0.2.0-RC8a
and i'm using it with an hfc card. It runs on a debian 3.1 sarge machine
with kernel 2.6.11. Asterisk works well if i configure the card using
isdn4linux.
I'm having problems dialing out (not tried the input yet).
This is the output from asterisk:

I have the same problem in a box with 2 HFC-PCI, but i already remove the row in modprobe.conf and load the module manually.
Both cards works fine
