Does It sound like correct? What do you think about execute a script for every call, query the database each time..? Do you think It'll overcharge the system?
Thanks a lot and kind regards,
Victor.

Question about "HB" flag and a "battery.charge.high" name
...gic. Namely, I'm thinking about hover-charging which
some devices do - as noted earlier. This may become more popular with LiIon
batteries hitting the UPS market (laptops and phones already do often
hover).
Currently the concept in NUT was somewhat addressed by a
`onlinedischarge_log_throttle_hovercharge` setting introduced (in
https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/pull/2216 and being revised now in
https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/pull/2428) with the intention to
hush log messages to the tune of "we are both online and discharging, what
is happening?"

Re: [nut-Patches][303751] Checking UPS Temperature
One disadvantage of handling it through a script is that is will not
be done by default. Most users probably don't know about the problem
of burning batteries, as it is not very common.
A potential problem with Eric Wilde's patch is that it is not general
enough; some UPS models have an boolean OVERHEAT flag although they
don't report the actual temperature. So the UPSOVERTEMP

How to lower float charge voltage of an APC Smart UPS - corrected
My first posting had typos. Here is the corrected version:
You can lower the float charge voltage that APC Smart UPS units such as
SU1000NET or SU700NET supply to the battery. This is important to prevent
overcharging when when substituting Lead Acid Deep Cycle batteries for
the usual sealed maintenance free batteries provided. Instructions:
1) Only do this if you're fully trained and

Configuration file format changes
After tomorrow's 0.99.8 release I think it's time for a new config file
format. It could be made backwards compatibile with the old format, but
there would be new tree-like categories. I was thinking something like
this:
# global settings
protocols = imap
# "foo.server.org" is just descriptive name
# settings inside server { .. } will override global ones.

Calls running forever / CDRs inaccurate
Hi list!
Running Asterisk 20.0.0 on CentOS 7, logging CDRs using
cdr_adaptive_odbc to mariadb-server-5.5.68 (via
mariadb-connector-odbc-3.1.7-ga-rhel7)
Using chan_sip.
I'm facing the problem when there is a sudden spike of calls, some of
the calls that are being made during those spikes hang forever
basically. This looks like this:

RE: Asterisk at home with Broadvoice?
...f possible, never ever use a debit card for online purchases.
It taps directly into your account and removes REAL money.
Credit cards are 'virtual' money in that they are credit and your cash
in account remains untouched.
That way if your credit card account gets compromised or a bad vendor
overcharges, they are taking the credit card company's money...
Not yours... Again, you get more leverage and protect your hard earned
duccets...
Just another thought.
Cheers,

Re: Changes to megatec.c
...should have a battery clamping voltage of between 32 and
42V. Assuming the possibility of a 'low' reading being reported by the
UPS, it should at least be 32V or more. The float charge voltage of
13.62-13.64V as recommended by sealed lead acid battery manufacturers
should keep it under 42V. Overcharged or worn batteries might have a
highere clamping voltage, but more than 42V will move it into the
regions of 48V power supplies.
- Battery manufacturers recommend a minimum of 10.8V for a 12V battery
as the cutoff discharge voltage (further discharge will cause battery
damage) but the UPS is likel...

Pay rates for Rails developers
Does anyone have an idea of the rates being charged by Rails developers
(or salaries for FTEs)?
I''m curious to see whether rates will become comparable to those paid to
more experienced Java/.NET developer types, or if rates will be lowered
by the free/open source mentality, and the possible perception that
Rails makes Web development "easy."
Sometimes rates are more

Logic problem in NUT with upscode2 driver
Hi All,
I have what is probably a 12 year old (or older) Compaq R3000 UPS
plugged into a FreeBSD 8 system running NUT version 2.6.5
This UPS contains a total of 16 batteries in 2 banks of 8,
each battery is 6 volts and the bank produces 50 volts.
The UPS monitors battery voltage and the battery charger in
the UPS works like this. For about 2 days it will apply a

Freelance Rate
Hi,
Not sure where to address this question ... but I guess this is a good
start. I am a freelance Rails developer - and have been developing Rails
apps professionally for about a year now. I just want to get an idea of
what you other freelancers charge yourselves out at. I have been
charging the equivalent of about $28/hour, but get a sense that I
could/should charge a whole lot more. I am

Should I choose DSL @ 1.5 or a full T1?
I'm looking to expand my bandwidth for my Asterisk PBX.
Why should I choose a T1 over DSL for my asterisk server?
I found someone offering T1's for $290 a month + Loops or 3 Meg for $561 a month + Loops. Is this a good deal?
Thanks
Bart
