Question about "HB" flag and a "battery.charge.high" name
Hello all, During discussion at https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/pull/2430#discussion_r1592317940 I found that while `nut-names.txt` documents the `battery.charge.low` as the "Remaining battery level when UPS switches to LB (percent)", there is no counterpart as `battery.charge.high`. First I thought one could be just added... but for that matter, what could one logically mean -

call barring
Hello, I'm willing to implement call barring for incoming and outgoing calls and I would like to discuss it with the list first, since I think It can't be implemented in a 'natural way' and I will need to use agi scripting - database. Process would be: 1. incoming calls priority 1, call incoming.agi, select all the blocked cli's for the called user, if caller is on

Question about "HB" flag and a "battery.charge.high" name
Thanks for the insights, especially these: > If this is about having variables with thresholds that control devices or cause synthetic setting of some variable (like turning on LB if charge% is < battery.charge.low), then it makes sense. > "battery voltage is unreasonably high" is a reasonable concept. <...> I would not call it HB, though because that makes it sound

Re: [nut-Patches][303751] Checking UPS Temperature
One disadvantage of handling it through a script is that is will not be done by default. Most users probably don't know about the problem of burning batteries, as it is not very common. A potential problem with Eric Wilde's patch is that it is not general enough; some UPS models have an boolean OVERHEAT flag although they don't report the actual temperature. So the UPSOVERTEMP

How to lower float charge voltage of an APC Smart UPS - corrected
My first posting had typos. Here is the corrected version: You can lower the float charge voltage that APC Smart UPS units such as SU1000NET or SU700NET supply to the battery. This is important to prevent overcharging when when substituting Lead Acid Deep Cycle batteries for the usual sealed maintenance free batteries provided. Instructions: 1) Only do this if you're fully trained and

Configuration file format changes
After tomorrow's 0.99.8 release I think it's time for a new config file format. It could be made backwards compatibile with the old format, but there would be new tree-like categories. I was thinking something like this: # global settings protocols = imap # "foo.server.org" is just descriptive name # settings inside server { .. } will override global ones. # groups (namespace,

Calls running forever / CDRs inaccurate
Hi list! Running Asterisk 20.0.0 on CentOS 7, logging CDRs using cdr_adaptive_odbc to mariadb-server-5.5.68 (via mariadb-connector-odbc-3.1.7-ga-rhel7) Using chan_sip. I'm facing the problem when there is a sudden spike of calls, some of the calls that are being made during those spikes hang forever basically. This looks like this: [root at voip]# asterisk -rx 'core show channels

RE: Asterisk at home with Broadvoice?
As a general rule of thumb it would be good to make the distinction between 'Credit Card' and 'Debit Card' too. If possible, never ever use a debit card for online purchases. It taps directly into your account and removes REAL money. Credit cards are 'virtual' money in that they are credit and your cash in account remains untouched. That way if your credit card account

Re: Changes to megatec.c
...should have a battery clamping voltage of between 32 and 42V. Assuming the possibility of a 'low' reading being reported by the UPS, it should at least be 32V or more. The float charge voltage of 13.62-13.64V as recommended by sealed lead acid battery manufacturers should keep it under 42V. Overcharged or worn batteries might have a highere clamping voltage, but more than 42V will move it into the regions of 48V power supplies. - Battery manufacturers recommend a minimum of 10.8V for a 12V battery as the cutoff discharge voltage (further discharge will cause battery damage) but the UPS is likely...

Pay rates for Rails developers
Does anyone have an idea of the rates being charged by Rails developers (or salaries for FTEs)? I''m curious to see whether rates will become comparable to those paid to more experienced Java/.NET developer types, or if rates will be lowered by the free/open source mentality, and the possible perception that Rails makes Web development "easy." Sometimes rates are more

Logic problem in NUT with upscode2 driver
Hi All, I have what is probably a 12 year old (or older) Compaq R3000 UPS plugged into a FreeBSD 8 system running NUT version 2.6.5 This UPS contains a total of 16 batteries in 2 banks of 8, each battery is 6 volts and the bank produces 50 volts. The UPS monitors battery voltage and the battery charger in the UPS works like this. For about 2 days it will apply a charge/float/topping

Freelance Rate
Hi, Not sure where to address this question ... but I guess this is a good start. I am a freelance Rails developer - and have been developing Rails apps professionally for about a year now. I just want to get an idea of what you other freelancers charge yourselves out at. I have been charging the equivalent of about $28/hour, but get a sense that I could/should charge a whole lot more. I am

Should I choose DSL @ 1.5 or a full T1?
I'm looking to expand my bandwidth for my Asterisk PBX. Why should I choose a T1 over DSL for my asterisk server? I found someone offering T1's for $290 a month + Loops or 3 Meg for $561 a month + Loops. Is this a good deal? Thanks Bart -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
