opencall.org is changing to soft-switch.org
Hi,
Anyone using my spandsp or unicall software please note that
opencall.org is shifting to soft-switch.org. HP have a line of telephony
products called Opencall, which were very obscure in 1999, when I
registered opencall.org. A search for "opencall" on Google back then
returned only references to theatrical agents. opencall.com and
opencll.net were theat...

What happened to opencall.org ?
Hi,
I was trying to get the fax capability for Asterisk, but the opencall.org
nameservers don't seem to work anymore. Does anybody have the direct IP link
to the source so I can get it from there ?
Thanks

Voicetronix FXO on OpenCall 4 vs OpenSwich 6
In my search for a better analog FXO interface, I'm looking into the
Voicetronix cards. Can someone let me know if they've been using the
OpenSwitch cards with Asterisk? Also, can anybody comment on the
differences in FXO performance between the OpenCall and OpenSwitch cards?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

spandsp 0.0.2
Hi all,
There is a test version for the next release of spandsp at
ftp://ftp.opencall.org/pub/spandsp/spandsp-0.0.2pre2 Only use this if
you wish to experiment. In general, using spandsp-0.0.1 is probably more
stable right now. If you have had problems with Canon FAX machines not
accepting FAXes from spandsp-0.0.1 you might like to try this version. I
have had at least one repor...

MFC/R2
Hi all,
I have begun the release of my MFC/R2 protocol software. At
http://www.opencall.org/installing-mfcr2.html there are instructions for
installing what I have released so far. This is the MFC/R2 protocol
software, and a test program. The software to interface Asterisk to the
MFC/R2 code will be released shortly. It used to work, but it hasn't
been touched for a while, and...

spandsp Makefile.patch
OK...I pulled down spandsp 0.0.1k today and followed the instructions.
However, I'm not seeing a Makefile.patch anywhere. I've looked through
the last few months of messages and haven't found any reference to it
missing for anyone else either...so...what am I messing up here?
Thanks.

Problem receiving a fax with RxFAX
Hey All,
I've been trying to get SpanDSP / RxFAX to work in order to set up a
soft-fax machine on my asterisk system.
I have asterisk CVS-04/08/04-10:06:15 and spandsp 0.0.1. This is on a
Fedora Core 1 with 2.4.26 kernel.
I have tried to look for a newer version of the spandsp stuff, but
opencall.org does not seem to exist in DNS any more. (If it's moved
location, can someone please update the Wiki -
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+fax ??)
Anyway, I have got it compiled and installed ok. When I try to receive a
fax, it does not seem to complete handshaking with the sending machi...

Spandsp loading via asterisk app_rxfax.c broken pipe.
...and asterisk does not start. If I put into the module.conf noload = apps_rxfax.so and app_txfax.so I am able to load asterisk fine. But as you known with out the other files loaded I can't use the spandsp fax function.
I don't know where to start to trouble shoot. I have read the FAQ on opencall.org but could not find what might be my problem.

The Asterisk Fax Manager
Hello everybody,
A while ago I made a program to manage the incoming faxes.
I made a page at sourceforge.net (http://tafm.sourceforge.net).
Also I saw that the program is downloaded for almost 100 times.
My question is, if you use this program, what are your experiences with it.
I am very curious who use it and if there are any problems/suggestions.
Greetings,
Johan Hollemans

Softfax/spandsp Makefile.patch rxfax/txfax
I followed the instructions at http://www.opencall.org/instructions.html
and
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-October/025094.html
I was able to compile spandsp (./configure ; make ; make install),
"manually" patched asterisk apps/Makefile (/usr/src/asterisk/apps), as the
supplied patch does not fit the actual CVS app...

A software FAX modem
...owever, it should work for calls passing through the T100P,
T400P, E100P, E400P, TE410P, X100P, or TDM40P cards, using any of the
available signalling methods. Don't expect it to work for calls received
by VoIP - its a modem, not a miracle worker.
You can find the software at <http://www.opencall.org>. It currently
consists of two parts:
The main part is spandsp, a DSP library for telephony at 8000 samples
per second. This contains a number of functions. Some are complete, and
some are works in progress. The FAX facility is part of this library.
The FAX facility consists of implemen...

TE410P / Eicon PRI
for today we only have experience with BRI applications together with asterisk.
is the following scenario possible and stable enough for production?
FYI : We want to build a unified messaging application integrated with SIP.
We have an E1 connection in Belgium with 100 msn's
We would think about having 2 servers :
Server A : Asterisk
PRI card (Digium TE410P)

RxFax - tiff problem
Hello,
We use tiff version 3.5.7-2 and spandsp-0.0.2pre3 with asterisk version 1.0 on
debian unstable. I have posted for our problem wtih fax. RxFax works and we
receive faxes, but the tiff file is sometimes malformed although the fax seems
to be received correctly. Our asterisk server receives calls and faxes from a
mobile operator. We are connected to their Cisco router which connects to our

Problem installing Software Fax SpanDSP support into Asterisk
I'm trying to install the SPANDSP software into Asterisk to support incoming (mainly) Fax. I'm following the info in http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+Fax. I downloaded and installed the spandsp software from ftp://ftp.opencall.org/pub/spandsp/ and followed the directions in several documents listed on the on the Tiki page.
I get down to patch < Makefile.patch that fails with Hunk #1 FAILED at 35. and Hunk #2 FAILED at 68. The Makefile.rej is included below. Not being a Linux wiz-kid, I'm struggling to figure ou...
