Anyone knows where can I find spandsp? Official site seems permanently down... TIA, Simone.
Does anyone know of an alternate source for spandsp? opencall.org is down and all the links returned by Google just point to the dead site. Thanks David Filion

However, I've gotten TxFax to work reliably. Outbound faxing (with a whole slew of scripts) is really quite slick. Oddly, faxing out over a TE410P to the teleco and back produces identical results from RxFax. That is, loopback doesn't function correctly. Can you think of any other details in your configuration that might pertain to SpanDSP? Would you be willing to post your binaries somewhere? --Will Glynn Freedom Healthcare Group

Just to be thorough, I managed to zero the machine load and I still only received ~1.2" of fax before it decided that it would be a good time to break.> Binaries? Compiled and booted a uniprocessor kernel; it successfully received more data this time, but still not even half a page. This is sounding an awful lot like a race condition somewhere between Asterisk and SpanDSP, and I don't know the threading model of either well enough to be useful in tracking this down. Well, at least we know it's not that. :-) I think I'll try faxing over IAX to see if getting Zaptel out of the loop does anything. --Will Glynn
have posted a while ago on issues of receiving faxes by an Asterisk host using an x100p fxo interface attached to BT pstn the asterisk installation is the cvs download as of 23/09/04 is anyone able to confirm that the rxfax / txfax application that seems to be 'bundled' in thecvs download is the latest as per the opencall.org site which i think is at 0.0.1k ?? Dear; regarding the details that i found on the site about spandsp; is it correct to assume the following ? + spandsp will only work with a card that is located in the * box? therefore will my welltech or any other voip fxo adapter support FAX ( i know it does t.38) -- My current situation is that i got a faxserver running in my old pbx situation; i need to find a way to replace the whole pbx with a * box; and need to fwd a certain MSN to my fax server, OR just have the * box handle the incomming fax. -- Best regards, Danny mailto:dannyz@belgonet.com belGOnet.com a Euro-pictures division - internet solutions place princesse elisabeth 9/11 - 1030 Brussels - Belgium Tel : +32-(0)2-215.67.65 - Fax : +32-(0)2-215.66.65 domains - hosting - hardware - VoiP - consultancy - backuping CISCO - HP/COMPAQ - SUN - EMC - JUNIPER - IBM - DELL - NORTEL No legal consequences can be derived from the contents of the email neither is belGOnet.com committed to them. Good day all I have a asterisk installation,1.0.3, and spandsp. I got asterisk working,I edited the make file myself. Now when I receive a fax I only get half a page or nothing any Ideas why Please let me know Altus
Let me see if I understand this correctly: I have an * box with a TE410 in it. If I install spandsp and all of its requirements, does it mean that I could have my * box receive faxes and put the tiff files in some organized location without the need of having a fax or fax/modem and any additional software like Hylafax? Thanks, Daniel

Hi, I'm having troubles getting SPANDSP working with Asterisk (for faxes), on a search of google.. I came up with a few links but the rxfax and txfax modules wouldn't patch or compile into asterisk.... Any hints? Regards, Sahil Gupta VoiceValley

I was only able to find spandsp-0.0.1k, I am trying to follow the AMP install guide, it suggests that I use 0.0.2pre18 but the site (soft-switch) is down. Does anyone have a copy of it or later? Also when attempting to compile the 0.0.1k I get errors that won't let me continue, I assume those are probably fixed in the 0.0.2 build. I can send the output if anyone things they can help with it, otherwise please point me toward a mirror, thanks! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Hello, Trying to install spandsp on my Gentoo box I get: t4.c:38:21: tiffiop.h: No such file or directory I've searched for hints about it and I've found that I should make install-private on (lib)tiff. Well, I did it only to find this: make: *** No rule to make target `install-private'. Stop. Does anybody have a clue how to get tiffiop.h ? Thanks. -- Jos? Pablo Ezequiel Fern?ndez
Hey Everybody, Well, I knew better. I Competely broke my faxing in the current CVS (09/18/2005) of Asterisk. Needed to do a clean install to see if that would fix my caller id problem and thought that I had backed up all directories (Missed the modules directory). Modified the make file, downloaded and installed the pre3 release of spandsp. There was no rxfax.c or txfax.c, or updated patch file for pre3, so I used the pre2 ones. Everything compiles fine, but Asterisk complains about an unresolved symbol. Has anybody been successful with the current CVS and rxfax/txfax? makefile.patch is buggy. Compile app_rxfax and app_txfax by hand. Mimmus
Yup, do you have /usr/local/lib listed in your /etc/ld.so.conf ? , you may also need to run ldconfig after compiling spandsp, but before compiling rxfax and txfax.
