te410p and Telstra Onramp 10
Hi, now that these cards have approval in Australia, has anyone had any luck in connecting them to a Telstra Onramp 10 service? Are these configured as a PRI, bchan=1-10, dchan=16 in zaptel.conf and switchtype=euroisdn in zapata.conf? Better yet anyone have any of the above .conf files they could share? Is an onramp 10 what is referred to as a 'channel bank'? Craig

Optus Australia Multiline SHDSL service
Hi, I am currently trying to find a replacement for a dinosaur PBX and want to replace it with a VoIP solution. We have just moved our lines over to an Optus Multiline from a Telstra ISDN Onramp 30 service with 100 lines. My question for you good people is what sort of hardware do I need to interface Asterix into the Optus Multiline? The Optus service is terminated in my office to a SHDSL NTU from Adtran and has two RJ45 conenctors on the back of it. Has anybody tried this yet? Thanks...

BAD echo problems with Sangoma and Telstra
Hello, We have an Asterisk 1.0.9 machine with a Sangoma A101 card fitted, it is connected to a Telstra OnRamp E1 in Melbourne, Australia. The problem we are experiencing is extreme echo and clicking noises. These are only audible to the calling party, e.g. the person calling in from the PSTN to Asterisk via the E1, the person on the SIP handset cannot hear any echo or clicking, only the PSTN side can...

Busy message on ISDN cards?
Hi all, I'm new to asterisk and not too knowledgeable on ISDN, so please be gentle :) I have a dual-channel Eicon Diehl Diva card in a Debian Woody box with kernel 2.4.27, connecting to a Telstra (Australia) Onramp Home Highway ISDN line. I'm pretty certain the card and line both work since they've been used in this machine for PPP before this (but with an older kernel with DoV patches, which are no longer to be used). If I do # modprobe hisax type=11,11 protocol=2,2 id="HiSax" it respon...

CAS signalling and FAX solution
I am trying to solve the fax problem by installing an E1 channelbank (Megaplex MP-104) It's a box that has 8 x FXS ports and a single E1 port. The plan was to use one of my 4 E1 ports to connect to the Telstra onramp and one to the MP104. I have since discovered however that the MP104 only supports CAS signalling and I am having trouble getting asterisk to work in this mode. Currently we have Onramp (Australian PRI) ---- port 1 of T410P --- asterisk --- port 2 or T410P --- MP104 In zaptel.conf I have span=1,1...

Asterisk ISDN CallerID identification failure
Hello, We have 4 'Onramp-2' Telstra ISDN BRI services operating on Asterisk Server with Eicon 4BRI card. For most part the service is okay. However, we are are having problems with passing callerID to internal extensions. This is the set of command executed. exten => <pattern>,1,Answer ; Answer the line exte...

Newbie dialplan: dial 0 for outside line
I just managed to put in a TE410 card in an Asterisk box to work with OnRamp 20(E1 downunder). I am able to dial in but was not able to dial out. Can anyone offer me some advice please? In my extensions.conf, I just put in: [default] ... exten => 0,1,Dial(Zap/g1) and I get this on the console when I dialled 0. -- Executing [0 at default:1] Dial("SIP/5166-b76004...

Australian Options
I would just like to get a refresh of the situation for Australian users. It would seem that the TE400P is currently available and is likely to acheive approval for use in Australia within the next 2 months ? (when is the end of summer?). Once this is done, it will certainly suit larger installations, but it still leaves a number of 'gaps'. Anyone with analog phone lines will need

The future of centos
...ntOS base will stay very close. It would be > very stupid of RH to do otherwise. > Exactly, the core distro stays where it is - we add layered and enhanced options with low barriers to entry around it. yum install centos-release-gluster yum install gluster. makes for a much easier gluster onramp ( or ceph or openafs ). If you look at the projects we interface with, it will be clear that this is all in the interest of the regular established existing CentOS userbase - eg. ci.centos.org now hosts the integration testing for libvirt upstream ( I suspect most people will agree that libvirt is...

e100p in Australia
I've seen this question asked before but haven't seen a definative answer. Does the e100p work in australia? Did any one who was asking the question before bite the bullet and get one? I can get a te410 if i really have to but would prefer to stay with the cheaper option. Any comments appreciated, Thanks ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP:

DNID Digits - Australia
Hi, Yet another question, now that I have callerid working correctly, I'm trying to work out how to utilise the different numbers I have. I have a 100 number range allocated to my E1/PRI/OnRamp service. My incoming calls are handled like this: Advertised/published number is an analogue line terminating on a X101P. If the analog line is busy, it has a call diversion to the PRI on a TE405P Whenever I look at a channel while a call is in progress I see something like this: Call on the analo...

What is the best way to loop over an ALTREP vector?
Hi Bob, Thanks for sending around the link to that. It looks mostly right and looks like a useful onramp. There are a few things to watch out for though (I've cc'ed Romain so he's aware of these comments). @romain I hope you taake the following comments as they are intended, as help rather than attacks. The largest issue I see is that the contract for Get_region is that it *populates the...

Starting From Scratch
...s go through the same. The debug info from when I dialed 106 is included below. I know I am a dummy about this stuff. But I am trying to learn how it works. Have mercy on me you experts. Can any of you see what might be wrong? My guesses include two possibilities: 1. For some reason my PSTN onramp (my own company) isn't really passing the call to the PSTN as it should. 2. Even for this really basic hardcoding experiment, my extensions.conf file is too short. For example, the connection takes longer than asterisk expects, and so I need to tell it to keep waiting before playing the reco...
