CUPS and Okidata ML 395
Hi All,
Has anyone currently, or in the past, setup an Okidata ML 395 (or any of
Okidata's impact printers, for that matter) on a CentOS box? I'm having
a miserable time with the ML 395: I'm looking for some tips.
I have an AMD Opteron server running CentOS 4 (x86_64). CUPS is running
happily for two Canon imageRunner's (via BrightQ Pro from...

Raw print queues in CentOS 4.4
Hi All,
I have a raw print queue configured in CentOS 4.4 for a printer
connected to a Windows PC. The printer doesn't have a Linux driver of
any sort, so this was the only way to print to it.
The printer is an Okidata dot matrix printer. Users can print to it
from a console application, but if they try printing to it from OOo
Writer, the printer spits out reams of pages with what looks like
postscript code. The very first page has a line that says "%!
PS-Adobe-3.0".
Even though the print queue is co...

USB->Parallel cable compatibility
I have an installation where we're replacing a rather old Linux
box with a new one that has no parallel ports. The old box has
two parallel ports going to Okidata printers.
The IOGEAR GUC1284B USB to Parallel Adapter cable looks like it
might be a simple solution to this, but I would like to know that
it works before getting a couple.
Comments?

Printing to Samba printer causes application to abort
I am using Slackware 10.2 (kernel 2.4.29) and Samba 3.0.21c for my print
server. The client workstations are WinNT4. I have two printers on the
linux server..an HP DeskJet 600 and an Okidata B4250. I can install and
print to the HP from any of the workstations. I can install the Okidata
just fine, but when I try to print from Word, Excell, or any application Dr.
Watson comes to visit. I get an error 'Exception: access violation
(0xc0000005),Address: 0x68603667' and the appli...

Generic Text Only printing from wine
Is it possible to do straight text printing from wine? I am trying to
get a crufty old application working under wine to replace a windows
box. It wants to print to an Okidata using plain ascii. The wine
postscript driver works but the printing is quite slow and ragged.
Thanks for any assistance.

Help in Problem with prints plase
...tes enough well but have problems
when trying to print in any printer connected to a PC with Win95 or WinNT. :-(
Before Actualizar Samba-1.9.17 all worked well, there was config the printers as it
indicate the file smbprint and could print perfectly in my Epson printer connected a
Win95 and the Okidata printer connected WinNT.
After update to Samba-1.9.18p4, upon trying to print me produces the following error

The Foxpro application prints to an Epson-compatible Okidata printer. If
I print from a Windows program, the print job is sent and printed
immediately. There doesn't appear to be any error messages in the samba
logs. I though it was a DOS/Windows problem but that wouldn't explain
why printing works fine when the printer is attached to a win98 box....
