OGGDS\OggSDK missing from svn
Hello, I am trying to get hold of the sources for the ogg vorbis DirectShow filter. I have checked out trunk\oggds, but the solution refers to projects under OggSDK, viz: "OggSDK\ogg\win32\ogg_dynamic.vcproj" "OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbis_dynamic.vcproj" "OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbisenc_dynamic.vcproj" ....which do not appear to be in subversion. The directories trun...

Audio popping in OggDS
Hi all, I'm experiencing problems with the OggDS filters. The main one is that when I play back an audiovideo OGG file (2 x stereo audio track, one played at a time) the sound is popping and crackling continuously. I thought it was buffer starvation but it was not. Even if I save to wav the decompressed vorbis track it contains the popping. It i...

Winamp vorbis crash
...e position slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp does not respond to any user input any more and uses 100% CPU. The only way to kill it is with the "Task Manager". I append the ogg/vorbis file ( it is only 4kilobytes long ). I created it with graphedit, using the OggDS DirectShow filters for Ogg and Vorbis ( from http://tobias.everwicked.com/ ). Look like the filters ( or graphedit ) are not entirely bugfree. I will CC this mail to them too. Detail information : - windows 2000 pro , SP3 , DX8.1b - athlon 900 MHz , MSI 745Ultra mainboard ( SiS 745 chipset )...

Ogg support in Windows Media Player 9 and WMP Media Library
Greetings all, I've got some questions and news (I think) regarding the Ogg DirectShow filter, and Ogg support in Windows Media Player and the WMP Media Library. The OggDS that's in CVS -- is there any reason it's only at the 0.9.9.3 level and not the 0.9.9.5 level that's on Tobias's webpage? After downloading the 0.995 version and digging through the Windows Media registry, I think I've found a combination of settings that enables Ogg playback...

OGG/Vorbis DirectShow
Hi! On http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2 ( Other Vorbis software for windows ) there is a link called "Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters" pointing to http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw That project is dead ! But there is another vorbis DS project at http://tobias.everwicked.com/oggds.htm , which is actively developed. How about updating the vorbis.com page to point to this DS-vorbis page ? Or is there another "official" OGG/Vorbis DirectShow implementation ? Regards, david --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://ww...

OggVDS Where?
Where can I download the Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filter? I've heard, that there is a newer version than 0.9.9.5. There's a bug in either OggMux or Tobias' Filter which causes text to be erased after special (unicode?) characters in the chapter list. Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files. Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5 - they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any more that it is an unsupported file format - they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without any complaint - they can be added to the media library. Small problem, they show up under &q...

Speex, what container?
But is there any sound player for windows that plays speex in an ogg container? One more question, besides the source code found in the speex site (like speexenc.c) can you tell me where to find source code developed in C++ (using object oriented programing) that makes it easier to write ogg files with speex content? FLAC Plug-in for Windows Media Player?
I was wondering if there is a FLAC plugin for Windows Media Player? Just from doing web-searches, it doesn't look like there is, at least as far as I can tell. So, if there isn't a plug-in for WMP, well, why isn't there? And is there anyone working on one? I'm a programmer, though I've never done any WMP programming. But, I would think it wouldn't be too hard to do a

IceCast Questions.... (&quot;id3 tags, mp3, Ogg, etc)
>vorbis is supported in WMP by external plugins - they're not built in, and not >auto-downloaded. >There is a real plugin, it will soon (but not yet, afaik) be available from >the auto-download servers. >iTunes doesn't support it. Where is this WiMP plugin that supports Icecast2 Vorbis streams? I would be very much interested in that. And where also is the Real plugin?

DirectShow filters ?
...bis" there is a link to http://mediaxw.org (Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters) The page is gone. It has a notice that it moved to http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw I sent this note to feedback@vorbis.com. Second, that project is suspended. But there is another one at http://tobias.everwicked.com/oggds.htm, ( also see http://tobias.everwicked.com/ ) a quote from the site : Current version 0.9.9.1 (last modfied 22.04.2002) The ogg vorbis package consist of four filters - Ogg Splitter (splits Ogg files into the different Ogg streams) - Ogg Multiplexer (does the mupltiplexing of several Ogg s...

GTA:SA ogg file problem
There is an application that rips the radio stations in the game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, and it produces ogg vorbis files. These files do not play on my iRiver iHP-120, it just skips on to the next track after about 1 second. I can provide an example file if someone would like to take a look and see what might be causing the problem. __________________________________________________ Phil

ogg and mp3
For your "non-technical" listeners, both WinAmp 2 and 3 support OGG. And it's free, as I'm sure you know. Challenge them to listen to the difference too. Once they hear how much better OGG sounds at the lower bitrates, I'm sure they won't mind switching over. And you might as well try to force their hands away from Micro$oft's Windows Media Player, if

How is 6 channels coupling made?
...which exchanges the 6 channels in the opposite way, to be applied before the vorbis encoder, so to fix the bug by Tobias. But I'm wondering if this would be a complete fix or not, because I don't know if or how Vorbis couples the channels when encoding; and I don't know if the current OggDS Vorbis encoder couples the channels before the bug or after the bug. Somebody who knows the libraries being used by Tobias could guess this better than me. Please tell <p>Also does anybody have a test pattern wave in 5.1 or 7.1? Header structure for &quot;video&quot; stream ?
I am writing a tool that gives information on movie files (http://avicodec.duby.info/) and I want to add ogg support. I have found full of information on ogg file format, vorbis file format, but nothing on the "video" bitstreams that I can found in some ogg files (with XVID movies mixed with vorbis audio for example). I can see that the "video" structe looks like this, but
