'for' loop, two variables
Dear Rusers,
I am still an unexperienced builder of functions and loops, so my question is
very basic: Is it possible to introduce a second variable (j) into my loop.
To examplify:
# This works fine:
fn <- function (x) {if (x>46 & x<52) 1 else 0}
res <-NULL
for (i in 40:60) res <-c(res,fn(i))
res
# But here, there is an error in the "for" expression:

Xen 3.0 User''s Manual
...User''s Manual put together,
reviewed, etc. We are targeting a review draft for 11/21 and it would be
great if any significant additions or changes that any contributers
might be making could get checked in before then so the review process
can be as effective as possible.
Thanks!

aggregate months to years
Many thanks for the recent answers to my question about pattern recognition.
The hint to "grep" and the "pattern" argument brought me a big deal forward.
# Now, I have a data frame:
DATE <- c("1930-01-01", "1930-01-01", "1930-02-01", "1931-01-01",
"1931-02-01", "1931-03-01") # almost all months until

rm(l*)
Dear Rusers,
how can I designate various objects the names of which start (or end) with
the same letter to remove them all together?
For instance:
> ls()
"a","b","c","l1","l2","x"
> rm(list=ls("l*"))
> ls()
"a","b","c",""x"

32bit OS on 64bit architectures
ok - i do understand the point. and i do guess the hint was also
included in ady's answer.
why running a 32-bit kernel? well because of efficency. i am running
ldap, bdb, mysql db, webservers, e-mail server with imap service on a
512mB RAM kernel without swapping of over 10 years. so - why should i
step up to a 4gB environment? it's all about point of view and
capabilities. i am also

32bit OS on 64bit architectures
hi
i was creating a boot stick for BIOS years ago, which still is working -
of course. need just update kernels.
i now need to set up new linux laptops. as i do not want to run into
troubles i do intend to create a new stick for UEFI. do not mix
BIOS/UEFI on one device. once again nothing fancy. prompt and say will
do. was reading all available text about best solution.
i so prepared a
