Sharing SIP Info with Realtime
...ave multiple Asterisk systems share a common realtime database for the purposes of accepting registrations from phones, and maintaining SIP location (ie ip address, port, expiry) information? The phones are type=friend as they both make and receive calls.
I've tried to implement this on three ocassions and on each occasion it has failed. Phones registered to the database from one asterisk system can't find the location of other phones registered to the database from a different asterisk system.
Kevin Fleming said it wasn't possible. I even called Digium Sales and they also seemed aw...

Checking root filesystem: Failed
Hi
I am using ext3 on Smoothwall Express 2 firewall,
which I understand is based originally off Red Hat.
The machine runs headless, without a monitor. On one
ocassion booting stopped, hooking up a monitor
revealed this,

/dev/harddisk4 has been mounted 29 times without being
checked, check forced.

Observations
...over to the destination node to ext3 disk.
On both occassions while creating the new control file on Target node, we got error stating the System file needs more recovery. ( Althoug we are 100% sure that on both occassions databases were shutdown normally for the backup)
On both above mentioned ocassions we were able to correct the problem using cp --o_direct command to copy the files over.
When we used cp --o_direct , we were able to create the Target Database successfully.
Has anyone noticed any similar issue with copy / ftp. ?

callerid name inboune from PRI
I switched PRI vendors recently, and one of my questions was "do you provide caller ID name in addition to number?"
AT&T Local did not, But XO communications said they did.
Before I call to complain, is there an setting to turn this on in asterisk?
I want to make sure that I have my side covered before I call XO.
My current zaptel.conf is:
context=from-pstn
switchtype=national

Sizing login_process_size and login_processes_count?
...imap and pop? I
would like to have at least 50 imap processes ready, but we rarely have any
more than 5 to 10 pop connections. Would be a shame to have 40+ pop
login processes doing nothing most of the time.
For now did login_process_size = 96, but with an average of 100 to 200 and
some rare ocassion of 300+ connections I am wondering what is a reasonable
number for login_process_size.

Controlling Postscript output, size and orientation

Below is the code:

#pin=c(6,4)

n=1000,
add=F,

I had the same issue with a trellis plot:
obs.plot<- xyplot(msen~Age,

Cups + Samba weird printing problem
...n both the raw printing option has been
enable.
The clients workstationt are, in most cases, Win2000/Win XP. The users
need to logon into the domain in order to access the shared services and pr

There is no problem printing from any linux / unix machine on a given
printer but, in a few ocassions the priting from a Win client falls
randomly.
This mean that, sometimes the print job is never printed, or a page or
two is printed.
In most cases the origins of the print job are MS Office suite
(currently we use Office 2003 and XP) in particular excell and word are

installing xen-3.0.3 on AMD sempron, CentOS4.4
...the newly compiled xen.. and to my surprise it came up with a panic:
mount: error 6 mounting ext3
mount: error 2 mounting none
Switching to new root
switchroot: mount failed: 22
unmount /initrd/dev failed: 2
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
I have tried to compile it on several ocassions. On the same PC, it is
an AMD sempron with 1GB RAM, 10GB HD. The /boot and / FS is ext3.
I have again compiled xen-3.0.2-testing and it works perfectly.
Last night I downloaded the RHEL rpms and installed them. I updated
grub.conf to use the newly installed kernel/initrd from rpms and again

OS/2 client crash on "Find Close2"
Hello,
I have just migrated an old OS/2 file server to a Linux box with Samba
3.0.23a. Now the OS/2 clients crash from time to time. I found a way to
reproduce/force the crash using PMMail and did some experiments.
The popuplog.os2 on the clients (Warp4 and eComStation) always names a
sys3175 in pmshell.exe / doscall1.dll.
Using Ethereal and comparing the network traffic between a) a client

Spill over
List
I need some help, advice or just a starting point on the following
situation:
Link A - 64kbps leased line
Link B - 512kbps ADSL line
Is it possible to have Link A saturated constantly and have the excess
traffic "spill over" onto Link B? I know it''s possible to have packets sent
down links in a round-robin fashion and I''ve read in the howto on load

Load Balance simply doesn´t work...
i´ve been searching for a load balance solution since a month
ago... what i can say is that it simply doesn´t work. I was
unable to find one guy that did it with sucess. When "load
balance" is the subject of the message on the list, the
message is simply ignored.
So... if it doesn´t work... why LARTC don´t delete it from the
HOW TO and answer us with some "it simply doesn´t
