unistalling gplpv from win7x64 gives BSOD
I have installed the 210 gplpv (debug), when I try to update them with current gplpv I get a BSOD even so when I try to uninstall them. Now I have made a bootentry that specifies NOGPLPV, what gives me a bootable system after such a crash, I found (uninstalling the leftover driver packages after getting bsod during uninstall of the main package) that uninstalling the net driver leads to bsod. Now I booted in safe mode (nogplpv) and uninstalled the disabled networkinterface in hardw...

Windows 2008 R2 64 bit BSoD
Hello. I''m trying to get the lastest GPLPV binary (rev 238) working on an Ubuntu Server host with Xen 4, but I''ve got some problems. The guest is a 64 bit Windows 2008 R2. After enabling test mode and rebooting, installing and rebooting again (with /NOGPLPV) I can see all the Xen devices, but two (out of three) Xen Block Device Driver have an exclamation mark; I don''t know if this is normal or not. More reboots do nothing, they stay that way. The exclamation mark error is "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I''ve got two...

W2k3 HVM domain QEMU drivers
So I successfully installed the GPLPV drivers in a Windows installation I have running under Xen. Turns out SP2 is needed - I wish this was slightly better documented somewhere, as the machine ended up bluescreening and I had to use /NOGPLPV to get it to boot again so I could upgrade it to SP2. My question is this: I ended up using ''disable'' in device manager for the rtl8139 and the old IDE driver as for some reason Windows still seems to be detecting that the devices are around. Windows was also complaining on boot...

Ubuntu HVM installation is very slow
Hi Everyone, I am trying my hands on xen under Solaris SXCE build 113. The machine has the following configuration: 2 Quad Core Xeon CPUs 16 GB RAM Solaris SXCE b113 4 disks - 2 mirrors x 2 stripes under ZFS The problem is that xen HVM is very slow. I am using the following command to create an Ubuntu 9.0.4 test vm. virt-install -n test1 -r 2048 --vcpus=2 -f /vdatapool/data/test1.img -s 50

GPLPV 0.10.55 net misbehaviour
I''m using W2K2 32bit on a 3.2.1 Lenny-amd64 host. While the pv disk driver works as expected, I encounter problems with the network driver. I tried several installation scenarios, all with the same result. My test looks like this: I install gplpv, but without letting the networking driver install. After reboot I RTL8139 ist still active and working, and gplpv devices manage the disks.

GPLPV drivers suspected to hinder live migration to different CPU type
Hi, I''ve noticed that on a Xen cluster with three nodes (two E5620 CPUs and one E5140 CPU) live migration works perfectly in between to two E5620 nodes, but fails to and from the E5140. The error message is about a HVM context not being able to be set. I strongly suspect the use 238 GPPVL drivers, but I cannot uninstall them at this point because someone else needs the server. Could

BSOD with GPLPV windows drivers
...ers for windows. It is similar (if not the same) as http://old-list-archives.xen.org/archives/html/xen-users/2011-02/msg00709.html Host is running 14 virtual machines with Windows XP. When I''m trying to start 15-th windows VM it crashes with code 0x0000007b. Booting to safe mode or with /nogplpv works ok. 15-th VM works fine if I''m turn off any of other VMs. I tried to install debug version of GPLPV drivers - it crashes too, but with code 0x0000007e. Xen version: 4.0.2 (OpenSUSE 11.4) GPLPV 0.11.0.308 (also tried 0.11.0.238) Windows XP SP3 Screenshots and qemu-dm.log attached....

..., etc) it BSODs with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and restarts immediately, before being able to display anything. Many attempts later I just caught the driver that "caused" the crash, xennet.sys. Which kinda makes sense, seeing as it''s using the network that crashes it. Boot NOGPLPV and it''s perfectly fine. I''ve done this now on two different installs, the second was completely updated, including SP2, taking several trips through windows updates, before gplpv was installed. The network is DHCP and stateless IPv6 autoconfigured, and 2008 gets both addresses...

GPLPV, clock drift and PVUSB in Windows XP HVM
1. Shouldn''t the GPLPV drivers take care of the (bad) clock drift I''m experiencing in my Windows XP HVM? Or is there some other way around this problem that I haven''t been able to find on Google? How can I tell if the GPLPV drivers are active? I''ve added the /gplpv switch to the boot.ini file and the virtual NIC is definitely using the GPLPV version but other

Question about /gplpv
Hi, I have a question about the switch /gplpv in boot.ini I see that some of the pv driver code is looking at this option; is there is any other piece of code that looks at this option before the drivers get loaded and perhaps change the bootpath or do something fancy? Thanks in advance, Udas _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

Uninstall gplpv 0.11.x (Unknown PCI Device)
...''ve followed all kinds of tutorials and suggestions but there must be something I''m doing wrong because even after having gone through all the process I always end up with an "Unknown PCI Device" that wants to be installed every time I reboot (either with or without the /nogplpv option). Here are some things I''ve done: - On safe mode (/nogplpv) I tried to uninstall using "Add/Remove programs". The uninstaller hanged, tried to cancel, it didn''t. So I rebooted. The "Add/Remove programs" no longer showed GPLPV but the drivers were insta...

GPLPV 0.10.0.69 Blue Screen 0x0000007B
Trying to install them on Xen 3.4.0, Intel E5345 Processors, Server 2008 64bit. I get the BSoD on boot with the 0x0000007B stop message. I''ve got a bunch of 2003 32bits running on the same host with the 0.10.0.69 drivers and those are totally happy. I tried the boot once with NOGPLPV idea mentioned in another thread, that didn''t do the trick. Ideas anyone? pace _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Limited number of phy disks?
In my experiments with setting up a NAS as a VM, I can only successfully import three drives; the root drive, the cd and one more. However, I have plenty that I want to use: disk=[''file:/vserver/vm_disks/Patch.disk.xm,hda,w'', ''phy:/dev/sda,ioemu:hdd,w'', ''phy:/dev/sdb,ioemu:hde,w'', ''phy:sdc, ioemu:hdf,w'',

Use /NOGPLPV to disable the device drivers, or boot into safe mode which will also disable them. GPLPV, RDP and network latency
Hello! Has anybody experienced network latency problems with combination of Windows 7, GPLPV drivers and RDP connection? Any Windows pop-up message(such as "command not found" error message in "Run command:" dialog, or dividing by zero in windows calc) causes a short freeze of RDP session and looks like that from dom0: PING 192.168.44.65 (192.168.44.65) 56(84) bytes of data.

GPLPV uninstaller
I''ve just uploaded a couple of .bat files to http://www.meadowcourt.org/downloads/gplpv_uninstall_bat.zip that will manually (and forcibly) uninstall GPLPV from your computer, which seems to be necessary before doing upgrades from some versions. Run the uninstaller, reboot, then install. There is a 0.9.x and a 0.10.x uninstaller, which differ slightly, but the basic steps performed are:
