custom startup/welcome message
hi everybody
I wonder if there is a simple way, but not simple would be
ok too,
to customize info/welcome page at session start time?
what I'd like to do is to put together simple short howto /
dos & don'ts page for users,
I'm thinking it would be great if it was possible

FW: rsync hanging after working reliably for years on one of my shares
Thanks for the suggestions - I have done my best to follow them.
I inserted the debug shim script and changed the rsync executable in rsync so that it called that instead, and got the same results. Here is the tail from that:

[PATCH] PVWin: Fix warnings
This patch cleans up some 80-odd warnings I was seeing when compiling
the xenpci driver, all completely trivial. It also replaces the use of
asm for calling cpuid with the __cpuid compiler intrinsic, and modifies
calling code accordingly.
I''m pretty sure my mailer going to mangle the inline patch (below) so
I''m attaching the pristine version. (will try to fix for next time)

Is there any chance of replacing/extending the GEP instruction?
As noted in the GEP FAQ, GEPs don't support variable-length arrays; when
the front ends have to support VLAs, they linearize the subscript
expressions, throwing away information. The FAQ suggests that folks
