jdk on wine - Error
I am struggling since past 2 days in trying to install jdk (64 bit) from http://www.java.net/download/jdk6/6u32/promoted/b02/binaries/jdk-6u32-ea-bin-b02-windows-amd64-30_jan_2012.exe

Function dependency function
Hi,
Is there a function taking a function as an argument, which returns all the
functions it calls, and all the the functions those functions call, and so
on? I could use Rprof, but that would involve executing the function,
which may miss some branches of code. I'd really like a function which
looks at the source code to work out all the functions that could possibly
be called...

Cannot update packages on F8
Dear All,
I have just updated R to the version 2.6.2 on F8 (with the official F8
rpm). However, when running as root the following command:
update.packages(checkBuilt=T)
I get a bunch of errors like the ones below. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

icecast2, libshout2, Shout.pm FreeBSD
Hi all,
Has anyone successfully managed to get icecast2 libshout2
and Shout.pm built under freebsd?
o far I've been able to build all of them except for
Shout.pm. I would like to migrate from icecast1 however
I can't do so until I can get everything built.
Here is the error I'm having trying to build Shout.pm
from the FreeBSD ports tree.

Weird data from evalJSON
I am trying to have prototype perform a request and return to me a
javascript object representing the json string returned by the
request. I want to iterate over the contents to print each object in
the json string. The value of transport.reponseText in onSuccess is
what I would expect. But once I try to perform evalJSON() on this
text it gives me a bunch of extra function()s when i try to

XRay FDR mode doesn’t log main thread calls
Hello,
I am initializing FDR mode and finalizing/flushing the buffers manually.
XRay does not log calls from the main thread unless there is a function
call after __xray_log_finalize(). This behavior is abnormal since one would
expect the trace file to contain all function calls made up to the point
when __xray_log_finalize() is called. To demonstrate this behavior, I have
taken the test case

Qs: The list of arguments, wrapping functions...
...s actual
arguments as a list? I'm thinking of something like the @_ array in Perl or
the arguments variable in JavaScript. (By "actual" I mean the ones that
were actually passed, as opposed to its formal arguments, as returned by
formals()).
2. I have a package in which most of the functions have the form:
the.function <- function(some, list, of, params) {
return( some.other.function(the.list.of.params.to.this.function));
}
Is there a way that I can use a loop to define all these functions?
In general, I'm looking for all the information I can find on the subject of

icecast2 on solaris ... (fwd)
Ok,
for further info, below is the full compiler output when running gnu make.
The first error,
../thread/thread.h:78: parse error before `pthread_rwlock_t'
is the one that brings on all the others. I've checked
/usr/include/pthread.h and didn't find pthread_rwlock_t in it.
So my guess is, pthread on solaris 2.6 is too old (afaik, there are three
versions of solaris that are

summing elements in a list of functions
Dear all,
I have looked for an answer for a couple of days, but can't come with any
solution.
I have a set of functions, say:
> t0 <- function(x) {1}

> t2 <- function(x) {x^2}
> t3 <- function(x) {x^3}
I would like to find a way to add up the previous 4 functions and obtain a new
function:

Functions returning functions
Dear All:
I have a question regarding the behavior of functions.
Say I define a function that returns another function :
A <- function(parameters) {
# calculations w/ parameters returning 'y'
tmpf <- function(x) { # function of 'y' }
return(tmpf)
}
The value of the parameters are stored in an environment local to the
