Nvidia Driver and CentOS-3
Ok, Well I have narrowed it down to my mother board. It is a Biostar mother board with an NForce2 chipset. I have the Nvidia driver working on my home machine which is and Asus board with an NForce chipset running CentOS-3 and the Nvidia driver works fine. It has to be the NForce2 Chipset that is no good. I have tried updateing bios, Kernel and Xfree. There is just something with this NF...

nforce2 usb is broken on -stable
Hi All, I'm running stable from August 19/2003. I've got a few A7N8X-Deluxe boards. One Rev1.0 and two Rev2.0. While the 1.0 board works, the 2.0 boards lock up on boot during the uhub0 bus discovery. It's extremely frustrating :) ... While I can boot without the devices and attach them later, the devices ( logitech usb keyboard, logitech mouse, rio800, samsung CDMA adapter,

stream to icecast and shoutcast
Hello, I would need an advice on how to change the setup of my streaming server. The box is an AMD Sempron 2800+ 512MB of RAM, nvidia nforce2 chipset, running on an OpenBSD 3.7. Changing the OS is the last thing I am prepared to do. The system is runing icecast 2.2.0 and Darkice 0.15beta (live streaming). Because POSIX scheduling is not supported in OpenBSD (darkice message on startup) I am experiencing recording skips (shoutcast stream...

Re: nVIDIA solution
Hey SCTV Library, Good work! (Is that your real name?) > The problem was the AGP driver, Not the Nvidia driver. I was wondering if you could help me write an informative FAQ for this. Here is what I have so far: The Nforce2 driver is part of the kernel-unsupported package (which must be installed separately). Set the Option "NvAGP" to "1". This tells the kernel to load the agp module made by nvidia not the Generic Linux kernel which is AGPGART. (When and where do you set the NvAGP option to &quo...

[Bug 28470] New: Cannot set AGP rate - system unstable.
...) Status: NEW Severity: blocker Priority: medium Component: Driver/nouveau AssignedTo: nouveau at lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: a51473 at bofthew.com QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org I have gigabyte 7nf-rz motherboard. It is nforce2 based. Problem is that chipset or particular board or bios or whatever... is unstable when AGP rate is set to x8. During heavy use (3d or even flash/mplayer video play) it tends to lock system hard. So hard, that even played sound is looped inside soundcard buffers. This problem is persistent over...

How can I disable sound?
...this? I don't really need sound, how to disable (short of disabling it on the mainboard)? I already commented out the alsactl stuff in modprobe.conf, but this doesn't change anything and the snd_* modules still get loaded. According to modprobe it thinks it's Intel 8x0 while it is an nforce2 chipset. Well, this may be okay for the kernel, I don't know. Can I disable using sound for the X server or tell the kernel not to load any sound modules? Kai -- Kai Sch?tzl, Berlin, Germany Get your web at Conactive Internet Services: http://www.conactive.com

[PATCH] nv1a,nv1f/disp: fix memory clock rate retrieval
Based on the xf86-video-nv code, NFORCE (NV1A) and NFORCE2 (NV1F) have a different way of retrieving clocks. See the nv_hw.c:nForceUpdateArbitrationSettings function in the original code for how these clocks were accessed. Nvidia Drivers
When I load the latest driver from Nvidia in CentOS-3 the logon screen turn light gray and I can't log in. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do about it. If I use the driver that comes with CentOS I don't have any problems. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! beware nvidia driver + make world
There was recently a change to /usr/src/sys/proc.h, and after a rebuild of the world and kernel and subsequent reboot my system crashed and took some files with it. This was because I hadn't rebuilt the nvidia driver so that it used this new proc.h file. If you are using the nvidia driver, and do a make world, you may want to remove and reinstall the nvidia driver port before the reboot so
