Bug in bsd-waitpid.c and bsd-nextstep.c
Hi!
The handling of the "status" information in bsd-waitpid.c and bsd-nextstep.c
seems to be bit odd. Patch attached.
Best regards,
Lutz

openssh on NeXTstep
Hi all,
I've been running OpenSSH portable on NeXTstep 3.3 since version
2.5.something with no/little problems. 3.7.1p1 still compiles fine but
sshd hangs at startup. I've tried to debug it but when stepping through
sshd using gdb it segfaults in mysignal in bsd-misc.c instead of hanging.
Before I dig any deeper into this I'd like to know i...

I'll be doing NeXTStep testing this weekend if all goes well. So I'll
see what the issue is on 68k hardware.

SAMBA on NeXTstep 4.2
Dear sir or ma'am:
I was wondering if you could send me any information on
installing the SAMBA protocol on a NeXTstep 4.2 system. Thank
you.

openssh bugs in snapshot for nextstep (fwd)
I was sent this from Mark Miller. Should we be using MAXPATHLEN
instead of PATH_MAX in the upstream tree? Not all systems define
PATH_MAX.

Why / where is this needed? Can you show an example of a failed build. This may
be an autoconf bug.

Mounting of NT Shares on SunOS
...ution for Linux(smbmount, smbunmount), but this does
not work on SunOS because smbfs is not supported. Is there a known port of
the software on SunOS...?
I have looked into using a piece of software called rumba(software to mount
NT shares via smb to nfs) to do it. But this only works on Linux and
NextStep. It has to be ported to SunOS.
Does anyone have any input on this..

Unix installation
I am trying to install R on a unix workstation (Sun-SPARC) but I am not
sure which of the binaries to use. The only binaries available are for
linux, nextstep, osf, and windows. Which one of them will work for a
SUN sparc station?? Thanks.
PS. I tried to compile the source code but it looks like I have a
probelm with fortran. So, if I could install one of the binaries it
would be a lot easier.

Erratic behavior when Windows XP clients attempt to login to PDC
I have noticed while testing my Samba 3.0.2a primary and backup domain
controllers with Windows XP clients, that when I attempt to login to the
Samba PDC, the XP client will sometimes randomly choose the backup
domain controller. I only want the client to join the backup domain
controller when the PDC is offline. I am not experiencing any random
network outages or DNS failures so I am bewildered

Another round of testing calls.
Outside the known 'Hang-on-exit' bug and the Solaris 'PAM_TTY_KLUDGE'
required. *WHAT* other issues *MUST* be address before 3.0 which is
approaching fast?
Those running NeXTStep I need conformation that it works under NeXT. My
current Slab is packed in a storage unit due to a fire in my apartment
complex (happened above me so I'm wrapping up dealing with that crap =).

What is in directory flac.pbproj?
Hi all,
There is a bunch of seemingly windows related stuff in the top level
directory flac.pbproj which has not been touched since 2009.
If it hasn't been touched, its almost certainly broken and redundant.
Can I simply delete it?
Cheers,
Erik

limiting simulated animal movement
Hi,
I am trying to simulate animal movement in a gridded landscape made up of
cells. At each time step (iteration), the animal moves from one cell to
another in a random fashion.
This is how I am simulating movement, where a and b are the x,y co-ordinates
of the animal at the previous time step:
for (i in 1:no.of.steps){
direction <- sample(1:8, 1)
if(direction == 1){
a <- a

libguestfs fails on FreeBSD9.3, MINIX3 qcow2 images
Hello Richard and all,
(continuing from https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2014-September/msg00112.html ).
I'm experimenting with libguestfs on non-linux VMs, encountered errors on FreeBSD9.3 and MINIX3 (and few others, but these ones are easy to share), with host Ubuntu 14.04.01 LTS x86-64.
Attached are logs from "virt-inspector -v -x" for each VM.
