I am trying to install R on a unix workstation (Sun-SPARC) but I am not sure which of the binaries to use. The only binaries available are for linux, nextstep, osf, and windows. Which one of them will work for a SUN sparc station?? Thanks. PS. I tried to compile the source code but it looks like I have a probelm with fortran. So, if I could install one of the binaries it would be a lot easier. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !) Thanks.None if you are using Solaris not Linux (you did not say), and unfortunately the Solaris version matters somewhat. That's the main reason we do not distribute Solaris pkgadd packages.> PS. There are Solaris packages for gcc-2.95.2 including g77 available, at several places on the Web. I'd recommend that for building R (unless you have installed licensed copies of SunPro SC5.x, the caveat being that the licence manager is in our experience extremely hard to set up). -- Brian D. Now, I took the fast solution and pushed it over on the sysadmins to do a sitewide installation of R. If that is not a solution for you, I think the folks here would need more details to help you.
