NT command tools
*** post for FREE via your newsreader at post.newsfeeds.com ***
I'm using WINE (20010731) with RedHat 7.2. I'm trying to run some Windows
NT command tools with WINE such as usrmgr.exe, netsvc.exe, etc. USRMGR.EXE
loads fine, but it says on the Windows app window "RPC Protocol error".
I'm wondering whether WINE supports RPC apps. Am I missing RPC support on
my installation? Also, where in the directory structure should I put
my LMHOSTS file? Thanks.

Starting an XP service using samba?
Hey all..
first off, I'm sorry if this is posted somewhere or in the docs ... I've
spent numerous hours searching and not had any luck, so here goes ..
We remotely admin a few thousand xp machines ... currently we have to
have a person at a machine enable the telnet service for us (through a
handy front end) so we can connect and check things out. After some
poking around the samba

SAMBA on AIX --> nsswitch.conf?
Hi
I am still trying to run SAMBA on AIX with "security = ads" and I have
a few questions:
- on AIX is no such file as /etc/nsswitch.conf --> Do I have to add
the configuration somewhere else?
- I allways get this "User xy is invalid on this system" if try to map
a share from Windows. What does this mean? Is the user invalid on the
Domain? on AIX? on SAMBA? Is the User

samba and very large files
I am seeing a problem that I am not sure how to fix and since I have

Gentoo systems so that we can dump the Windows machines. So, the windows
