Only part of sieve script works
Hi, I am using Dovecot 2.2.11 with Pigeonhole on Arch Linux. I have a partly working sieve script (pasted to the end of this mail) which sorts mail into various imap folders. The first, third and fourth if blocks work just fine. The second and fifth block do not sort any mails. However, if I apply the script with sieve-test to mails the second and fifth block seem to work. How is the manual

What are controller modules *for*?
I am aware that controllers can be placed in modules: ruby script/generate controller modulename/controllername But what does this buy me? Is it just a way of ensuring that my source code is nicely arranged, or can I use the fact that a set of controllers are all within a particular model to implement functionality common to all of those controllers? Why am I asking? The app

browsing problems with 2.0.0
I just upgraded our Sun OS 4.1.3 servers to samba 2.0.0 from the last 1.19 release, but the switch has changed how browsing works with NT 4.0 SP 3. 1. After double-clicking on Network Neighborhood there's now a considerable delay before anything appears -- before it was virtually immediate. 2. The computers in the workgroup no longer appear; I now get only "Entire Network", and

linux and wine noob needs help with installing SketchUp
I have Ubuntu 10.04 and just installed WINE 1.2 (because it's stable version). I am installing SketchUp 8, and the installer asks what destination folder to install to. It defaults to "C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 8\" and won't let me change to the Linux format of "home/user/Sketchup" that I think is correct. What do I do? The Wine FAQ states:

CPU saving way to lower quality of Theora stream
Hi, is there a good concept to lower the quality of a Theora stream without completely reencoding it? For example to make a lower bitrate stream out of a higher bitrate stream on the fly on some sort of proxy server. I am thinking about something like requantization. If you think requantization is also the best (or the only) option for Theora please let me know. Kind regards, Franz

segfault debugging
Hello everybody, I have written a script with two inline cfunctions. The script crashes from time to time with: ? ?*** caught segfault *** ? address 0x10, cause 'memory not mapped' The crashs happen within R code after the cfunctions were executed. Nevertheless I think that the pointers in my cfunctions are not used correctly. I tried to find some examples for debugging tools. I found

Disclaimer: Not trolling. Cross-posting to -users to gague support. -users : Straw poll - if an XML based Manager Interface was avaliable as an option in asterisk.conf, would that be a good thing, or a stupid thing? >Have you ever tried initiating a session via XML with a terminal that >doesn't support backspace... Successive Graphs
Hello! I have written an R script on a Windows platform where I calculate eight result matrices I plot using matplot. I would like to display the resulting plots successively, rather than simultaneously, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how to do this. The graphs pop up in this manner by default when I run my script in S-PLUS, with tabs separating them so I

[Cortado] How to support seeking in on-the-fly generated Theora stream?
Hello all! i want to use Theora in a little video portal, because its free and open source and i want to contribute some code to get the Java Theora player (Cortado) more feature-rich. But now I'm stuck and hope that someone can point me into the right direction. I have videos stored in several formats (mostly H.264 or MPEG4) and use ffmpeg2theora to recode them on the fly. OS for rails development: Windows vs. Mac?
Caveat: this is not a discussion about *hosting* a rails app on windows. Anyway...Macs are everywhere you look when researching rails (demo vids, tutorials, and pictures from rails training classes). I''m interested in what the pros to using a Mac for rails development are (besides textmate). Is it more of a cultural thing, a what would 37 signals do thing, is it a unix thing, or
