Generate two calls from Asterisk and bridge them
Is there a way in Asterisk (I guess there's, it's only I can't figure out how :-)) to: 1.- Generate a call to channel 1 (example, to PSTN v?a an E1 card, using Zap/g1) 2.- Generate a call to channel 2 (example, an internal SIP extension). 3.- Once both channel have answered, connect the call between them. This way, I can, for example, play audios in both channels before they are

RFC: System and time support functions in R
I've been looking over system utility functions that we might want to add to R. A few come out of specific needs, others from looking at other systems and what people are using system() for. I've taken account of Paul Gilbert's comments posted here a while ago (and I think covered all except the use of mailers). We currently have date *.socket file.create file.exists file.remove

pam session as root
Beyond any more general questions of whether pam sessions *should* be run as root, is there an immediate security concern with moving the pam_open_session (and pam_setcred) stuff to the parent (root) process? Nice to see that at least one person read

Rsync Minimalist: --include only does "add_exclude"
Why does this not include? I have tried many variations including adding an exclude command. public IP for VM
I can't seem to figure out how to setup a public IP for the VM so we could use it as a second public webserver. The host machine runs our primary webserver with CentOS 6.9 and one public ipv4 address configured on physical interface eth0. Now i have configured a new bridge interface br0: DEVICE=br0 TYPE=Bridge BOOTPROTO=static The IP settings are for a second public ipv4 address in the

Is efiboot.img required?
Just to be clear on the topic, I decided to do some tests from scratch on my MacBook Pro. This are the steps and results: 1. I've pick my USB pendrive and zeroed it, and after that created a new MBR partition scheme with fdisk and a VFAT partition of 32MB. Later I dd'd the file /usr/lib/syslinux/mbr/mbr.bin from SysLinux 6.03 and set the boot flag on the partition, so it could be able to

OT: Opensource "Sipura Profile Compiler" for SPA2K, 3K
Hello list, I have several SPA-2000's and 3000's scattered about the Internet (all behind NATs). Because I do not qualify as an ITSP, Sipura will not license their "Sipura Profile Compiler" so that I can have the units remote upgrade, remote re-configure, etc (via TFTP or HTTP). This is extremely annoying. Right now if I have to make a config change to any of these

Help choosing the right card
I have been doing a lot of reading forums and elsewhere but am somehow unable to connect the dots. Here is what I am trying to accomplish initially and then wish for it to grow bigger from here on. I have two POTS (Analog) line that would connect to the Asterisk Box. I have, to begin with 5 IP phones (PoE), all connected to a switch. Asterisk Box with a LAN card also connects to the same switch.

SU vs. ssh root@host
All-- su cannot be run without trusting the shell. The shell cannot be trusted without trusting any instructions the shell uses, from library calls to rc scripts. Hell, the instructions the shell uses can't even be trusted, since they're all living in userspace memory. By contrast, SSHD is generally a root owned, highly secure environment with no unpriveledged userspace

Naming convention for foreign keys
Hi, In "Agilge Web Development With Rails" on page 217, an example of foreign keys is shown. I am however unable to find a definition of wheater the naming of the index is significant. On the above mentioned page, this line is shown in the example: constraint fk_items_product foreign key (product_id) references products(id) In "fk_items_product", "items" is
