Is ProxyARP or NAT entries really neccesary for DNAT to work?
I have been trying to get DNAT to work and I actually have succeeded
too, however, not how I thought it would work when reading through the
documentation.
1. No matter what I do I cannot get DNAT to work unless I have an entry
in eiter the nat or the proxyarp file. Is that really how it''s supposed
to be? I can''t find anything about it in the documentation.
2. Also, in the

squared euclidean distance
Dear R-Help-Team,
I would like to cluster my data using the ward-method. In several papers I
read (e.g. Bahrenberg) that it is neccesary to use the "squared euclidean
distance" with the ward-method. Unfortunatelly I cannot find this term in r
as a method for measuring the distance.
Does anybody have an idea?
Thanks in advance,
Carolin

Upgrading Asterisk
I'm about to upgrade my currently running asterisk server from 1.0.3 to
1.0.6 is there anything I should do before doing the upgrade?
I know since I'm using Fedora Core 3 that I must do for Zaptel : make
clean then make linux26 and finally make install.
Do I have to remove the version 1.0.3 first or only doing install will
replace all existing modules without removing my config files?

fallback source give up and returns to original source
...>
> My original patch does just that.
By the way, Melanie - I forgot to tell you, but your patch (with some
significant changes) is now integrated.
It should do this - connect new listeners to the fallback source if the main
source is down - but I haven't really tested it. The changes neccesary for
integrating your features were significant enough that I might well have
broken it.

Can't establish Dovecot authorization in Exim.
Hi,
I have some problem in Dovecot authorization in Exim for
outgoing SMTP.
Version of Exim is 4.69 and the Exim was compiled
with "AUTH_DOVECOT=yes" and "AUTH_PLAINTEXT=yes".
Version of Dovecot
is 1.2.12.
I use SSL for IMAP. Is Exim neccesary to use SSL(TLS)
for authorization of outgoing SMTP?
Configuration files is as

[LLVMdev] Simpler way to insert instructions into the program
When talking to Joel and Brian a while ago, I realized that it is a very
common occurance to create an instruction, then immediately insert it into
a basic block. At the time, this required keeping iterators around
(updating them as neccesary) to determine where to insert the instruction,
and it also required calling getInstList().insert(....) or something
similar after creating the instruction to get the insertion done.
This is all a thing of the past now. :) You can continue to write code
like that, and it will still work, but ther...

In your local CVS tree, change the methods to be const, and adjust any
code that is neccesary for that to work. Once that is done, from the top
level, type 'cvs diff -u >& patch.txt' and attach patch.txt to an email.
If you're using sh instead of csh, use 'cvs diff -u 2>&1 > patch.txt'.

Updating wine with GIT
..., or else, the installation fails (is there a way to avoid this??)...
On the other hand, to update sources, I use:
cd ~/wine-git
git reset --hard origin
git fetch
git rebase origin
However, I've noticed that if I ommit the last command (git rebase origin) Compilation goes much faster...Is it neccesary to do that?? What does git rebase origin does??
I read this procedure once on appDB, and been following it blindly for some time, but I am annoyed because recompiling the whole sources each time is very time consuming if I include git rebase origin...
Also, something Ive been wanting to know for...

cisco ip phne 7911G with asterisk
...t this moment I thought that the phone should ask the SEP<mac>.xml.cnf file but it asks CTLSEP<mac>.tlv all the time. I don't have this file in the server and it tries to download every few seconds whitout asking another file. According to what I have read this file shouldn't be neccesary and, when the phone cann't obtain it, the phone should ask SEP<mac>.xml.cnf. I don't know if I'm doing something bad or if it could be a issue of the firmware version.
I would thank some clue. Thanks,

Patches - Was: Stream metadata settings
...ead, ever", along with some
static local variables, in the source_find_mount() function. I'm not sure why
you said this, it's clearly incorrect: the source_* functions are called from
many different threads, and this is clearly not safe. This is easily fixed,
though, by passing the neccesary variables recursively, and splitting the
function into two.
I'll probably have more questions once I read the other two patches in detail.
Thanks again for your contributions,
Mike

Search for the minimum of a fitted curve
Hi,
I have a function of the second grade, with 2 parameters:
y~A^2 + A + B^2 + B
The response y is a measurement for the precision of the analytical method, where A en B are method parameters. As its neccesary to keep the precision of the analytical methad as good as possible, its usefull to optimize A en B to keep y as low as possible.
But how can I do this with R?
I have searched the archives, did some search work in the help function ( optimize, nlm, nls, ...)
but could find anything that looks like w...

[LLVMdev] MachineInstr: external symbols problem
...lue, but still, is the non-copying behaviour of constructor
> by design?
Yes, this is by design. MachineOperand is supposed to be a very
light-weight union. We actually used to have it carry an std::string
around, but this required conditional code to make sure to free it and
copy it when neccesary.
If you'd like to do this, there are a couple of options: first, you could
build the table in the asmprinter, and have the operands point into the
string table. Second, you could add the functions to the Module, though
that is less appealing (ideally the code generator would not hack on th...
