I understood this should simply be: exp(mu + sigma2) ... but I the following code gives me something strange: R <- 10000000 mu <- -400 sigma2 <- 200 tmp <- rlnorm(R, mu, sqrt(sigma2)) # a sample from the desired log-normal distribution muh <- mean(log(tmp)) sigma2h <- var(log(tmp)) #by my understanding, all of the the following vectors should then contain very similar numbers c(mu, muh) c(sigma2, sigma2h) c(exp(mu + sigma2/2), exp(muh + sigma2h/2), mean(tmp)) I get the following (for one sample): > c(mu, muh) [1] -400.000...

MoH via AGI broken after upgrade.
...(SetMusicOnHold) Options: (jazz) However, when the call is placed on hold, the "default" MoH class is used: [Jul 18 15:15:50] -- Started music on hold, class 'default', on channel 'SIP/trunk-0000bfa9' My AGI script is writen in Perl. Here is the line that does the MuH class setting: $agi->exec("SetMusicOnHold", $o->{musiconhold}); I have verified that $o->{musiconhold} contains the name of a valid MoH class. Is there a different/new way to set the MoH class in version 13? Any advise would be welcome. Mike

what is R equivalent of Fortran DOUBLE PRECISION ?

Since R cannot undestand numerical conatant post-fixed by the letter "D", I wonder how I can instruct R interpreter to store such a numerical constant reserving as muh memory as necessary so as to accommodate a double precision number. I noticed R accepts the folllowing syntax but I do not know if i have achieved my goal thsi way: > c14 <- as.double( 7.785205408500864E-02) > typeof(c4) [1] "double" My questions are: what is the best prec...

multiple ldap classes?
I''d like to keep some pretty granular class definitions in ldap; but I''m not sure what is the best way to turn that into a puppet manifest. Is anybody else doing something like this? For instance, a samba server might have the following classes defined (in ldap): samba, samba-bdc, samba-file-shares, samba-build-shares, etc... And I would like to do something like this: -- class

faxes received on mISDN
Hi, My initial setup for receiving faxes worked as follows: fax call arrives on ISDN BRI connected to a BOSCH PBX, signal sent to ALCATEL PBX via PRI QSIG then finally sent to ASTERISK via PRI EUROISDN. The Asterisk server then forwarded the call to a iaxmodem and HylaFax received the data. All worked fine. Now I got rid of both BOSCH and ALCATEL in the "fax path" and it's as
