Asterisk and MS Exchange 2007
Hi,
Here you can find a list of MS Exchange 2007 compliant systems:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/telephony-advisor.mspx
You cannot see mention of Asterisk ;-))
Has anyone tried to "integrate" Asterisk and Exchange 2007 ?
A prospective customer is using MS Exchange 2007 and is asking for such
integration.
Passion aside, what do you think of such integration ?
Would you expect a better user experience fro...

Samba4 - create a new auxiliary classe in AD
...http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/samba3upgrade/HOWTO : ok ! great !
Now I want to create a new auxiliary classe in AD by using mmc -> Sch?ma
Active Directory.
I've generated the object OID using the script :
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/scripts/ad/domains/addmvb03.mspx?mfr=true
I've added to the root OID : <root OID>.1.1
But I have the following error : "Server doesn't wish to process this

traiter la requ?te")
So how can I modify AD schema with Samba4...

Asterisk on MS Virtual Server
Hi,
This might not be a very popular question, but I was just wondering if
anyone have ever tried to run Asterisk on a Windows computer using Microsoft
Virtual Server
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/virtualserver/default.mspx).
I am told that you can run Linux on a virtual server using this software, so
in theory it should be possible.
I run a windows based domain, but am also keep run Asterisk. I could use a
different computer, but that would use more electricity. So I was thinking
on upgrading my server to the...

Lies wide open ...!
Being as a Windows geek tho, I consider Linux as a more powerful server
operating system than Windows. When I saw OS comparison at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver/compare/linux/server-security.mspx I
was shocked! Showed it to a friend and he felt like being brainwashed :D
lol.
What do you fellows think about this?
Thanks.

wbinfo can not convert User names and Group name to S ID
Yep. We are dealing with once perfectly fine working 3.0.9 servers to
erratic and weird behaved ones. We believe this is due to changes made my MS
in http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS05-042.mspx but thus
far have not been able to confirm.
Commands like: net rpc join -S PDC -U <Admin>
now return "no suitable server found" even though that is the same command
used when we setup the darn thing and it worked then.
Bottom line is our samba member machines didn't change...

Big problem with the latest hotfix for win2k in comb. with a samba 3.0.2a PDC
Hi there,
i've got many trouble using Win2k/SP4 (German) clients on a samba 3.0.2a PDC
after applying
a new hotfix by Microsoft
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-011.mspx)
with the number KB835732.
Signing on with a local user works fine, but if any user is signing on with
a domain-account, some strange things happend.
The profile could'nt be loaded or some services won't start.
After uninstalling the mentioned MS-patch, everything works fine - no
problems...

XP SP2 and slow logins/offline files sync: RPC changes?

with it (RPC changes in XP SP2)? More to the point: has Samba accounted
for the changes and/or does it need to?

Access Based Enumeration
...3 SP1 that will do access based
enumeration.
This is great because of "out of sight, out of mind". If the user
doesn't have privilege to access the directory or file it doesn't show
up in the directory listing.

Any idea when samba will be able to do the same (if it can already do
it, just point me in the right direction).
Thanks,

Did Microsoft release any useful information . . . ?
Hello,
I just read on an austrian news site ( http://futurezone.orf.at/hardcore/stories/289596/
) that Microsoft released documentation of some of their protocols.
On the site there are 4 links to Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2008/jun08/06-30InteropUpdatePR.mspx?rss_fdn=Press%20Releases

Now my question is:
Is there any useful information for open source developers, especially

authenticating IIS 6.0 against samba?
...e IIS
6.0 on the 2k3 server authenticating against samba so that windows
sharepoint services can be used. I've tried getting NTLM authentication
working following instructions at
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/7258232a-5e16-4a83-b76e-11e07c3f2615.mspx?mfr=true
but I'm not having hany luck. I'm still getting access denied errors
when trying to authenticate users in sharepoint services. Has any one
got this working, and if so, any tips?

Moving Domains - profiles question
...9;s
profiles. These are local profiles. I want this domain move to be
transparent to the users so I need to copy or move the individual
profiles. I've seen this procedure for copying a profile
(http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/sysdm_userprofile_copy.mspx?mfr=true)
What I'm concerned about is if I move the profile wholesale into the
new path, keys in the old user.dat might conflict with the new domain.
Does anyone have any experience of this type of migration that can
offer any advice?
Thanks in advance,
Dermot.

[LLVMdev] Legal matters using code etc from MS website
Hi Folks
Please review this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/info/cpyright.mspx#EKAA
As I see it, no one should use code copied from Microsoft directly, unless
you are explicitly sure it is for private or non-commercial use or a
permission is specifically granted for the purpose.
And for that matter, no one can be sure if you rewrite code, not to infringe
patents - as the...

Xen GPL PV Drivers, Windows 2003 unplanned shutdown
Hi,
I''ve recently started using the GPL PV Drivers (0.9.10) for a pair of
test machines, one XP and one 2003. XP works beautifully: Thank you for
the development efforts. 2003 works almost as well, with one exception.
When I either xm reboot or xm shutdown and subsequently restart the
virtual machine, at first login I get this dialogue:

I'm not having any trouble with interrupts, but here's my
/proc/interrupts on Fedora Core 2 on a hyper-threading CPU and using the
SMP kernel (2.6.5-1.138). I don't think I need to worry about uhci_hcd,
nothing is plugged into USB, but libata is the disk driver. How do I
get libata and wctdm to use different interrupts?

An idea on operation Wine on ARM
Hello everybody.
As you know, Microsoft is going to release Windows 8 and MS Office for ARM sometime in 2012. (via microsoft.com (http://www.microsoft.com/Presspass/Features/2011/jan11/01-05SinofskySOC.mspx))
