Split plot analysis problems
Hello, I would be very grateful if someone could give me a hand with my split plot design problems. So here is my design : I am studying the crossed-effects of water (wet/dry) and mowing (mowed/not-mowed = nm) on plant height (PH) within 2 types of plant communities (Xerobromion and Mesobromion) : - Within each type of communities, I have localised 4 blocks - In each block, I have defined

Shafer's MIX: Query on code
Thanks to Fernando Tusell and especially to Brian Ripley for their work on 'mix', leading to an apparently good package mow available on CRAN. Going through the R code for the function prelim.mix, I am wondering why the following method of calculation is used at one point: umd <- as.integer(round(exp(cumsum(log(d))))) (d is a vector containing, in effect, the numbers of levels of

MemoriesOnWeb and wine
In http://www.edsupport.cc/mguhlin/archives/2007/08/entry_3550.htm, Miguel Guhlin asked how to install MemoriesOnWeb and its recommended codecs under Wine, so here goes. All I did was translate his instructions to wine-ese. 1. Download xvid for windows from http://www.xvid.org/Downloads.15.0.html, install it the obvious way: $ wine XviD-1.1.3-28062007.exe 2. Download lame from

cmd curl crashes asterisk:
I recently began using the curl cmd to do an external callerid lookup on my own customer database. I've noticed certain lookups will cause a crash and not show anything in the messages file or the console. The curl command is connecting to an external webserver which has a oracle db connection. The file its hitting is PHP and does a very simply lookup showing the text like "C1234 Bobs

problem with strata in boot
Hello, I am new to R, and am having trouble running a stratified bootstrap. My data set consists of 38 study sites in which I recorded the number of bird pairs. Each site has been classified as burned or mowed and for each of these two strata I would like to determine the precision of an overall density estimate. I can run an unstratified bootstrap without problem, but when I specify the strata I

Suggesting Vorbis Test Suite
Hi, I'm one of these users with a Samsung YEPP MT6, using it with Ogg/Vorbis. After an initial success with the files I ripped myself (using SuSE Linux and my own CDs), I changed my programs to follow the Vorbis comment recommendation (Use multiple identical tags for multiple occurrencies like "ARTIST"). As it turned out, almost no existing software can deal with that. For the

VoicePulse Connect
Asterisk Users, Has anybody use Voicepulse Connect for Asterisk? I am trying to cover all my bases because in the past, I got burned with poor quality of service, along with failed DTMF tones with 3 different SIP Providers (Vitelity, Broadvoice, and Teliax). I am running Asterisk 1.2.13 on the Debian Etch system, using the SIP protocol. Any insights would be great. Thanks. -John

See i need to do the following; mount -t smbfs //<machine_name>/<share> /home/<usr_name>/music ...only thing is, I have to run the cmd as a regular user. The easiest thing would offcourse be to have i run at when booting, but i don't know how to do that. Any help

[PATCH] Change fallback name for external supermin helper
Use basename of external helper instead of 'no' for external supermin helpers. This gives a clear error messages what binary is actually missing, and it is now possible to install the missing package without recompiling libguestfs. In addition its now also possible to use private builds of supermin (if they are in PATH) with a given libguestfs binary package. Signed-off-by: Olaf Hering

Win32 DLL
I've put together a first cut for a Win32 DLL using the BladeEnc interface. Right now, it's just a drop-in replacement for BladeEnc.dll that ignores all encoding parameters passed to it and uses the info_A vorbis_info struct (same as the encoder_example). It's not particularly useful as of yet, but you can rename it to BladeEnc.dll and use it with any number of rippers out there

confused about iax and voip providers termination
Hey guys, I'm actively trying to get the "big" picture on how all this works and relates to each other. I've gone through some basic examples from the book and from the sample files just fine. Now, I've setup an account with a VOIP provider which does IAX termination (exgn.net) After getting an account and following their steps, I can make calls out using my IAX (cubix) and

An old ld-linux.so hole
Section I. Overview Hello, About a half year ago there was some rumour on bugtraq concerning a buffer overflow in Linux dynamic linkers, ld.so and ld-linux.so. You can take a look at the beginning of the thread at http://www.geek-girl.com/bugtraq/1997_3/0089.html to refresh old memories; I''ll capitalize anyway. Briefly, there exists a buffer overrun in ld-linux.so versions 1.7.14,

Trouble when suppressing a portion of fast-math-transformations
Hi all, In a mailing-list post last November: http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2016-November/107104.html I raised some concerns that having the IR-level fast-math-flag 'fast' act as an "umbrella" to implicitly turn on all the lower-level fast-math-flags, causes some fundamental problems. Those fundamental problems are related to situations where a user wants to

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
