Recent wines on RH7/kernel-2.4.0
I'm not running RedHat(running Debian rather), but I've run Wine under 2.4.0, 2.4.1 and 2.4.2-pre3 kernels without any trouble. indexing a vector
Dear All: I'd like to know how to sort and then index a vector of floats by several levels in R. POWERCOM HID USB controller update
...; Do you have any recommendations on how the driver should decide whether it is an old 0x0004 or new 0x0004 device? No-no, there is no an old 0x0004 or new 0x0004 device, I guess that we have to handle general case for all 0d9f:0x0004 devices. From PCM_USB_LIST_device2014.pdf attached by Alexey Morozov: "(VGD, VRT, RPT, .. and new UPS etc.) - 0X04.". According to this doc we can expect that all new PowerCOM devices will be shipped with ID 0X0d9f:0X04. For example, my Imperial IMD-825AP LCD has 0x0004, but an old examples of this model have 0Xa2. Also, lets take a look inside PCM_USB...

R performance on Unix
Hi I'm observing a huge difference in the performance speed of R on Windows and Unix, even though I know that my Unix machine is much more powerful than my Win machine. In particular, any character processing task is very time consuming on Unix. strptime(x,"%H:%M:%S") is about 10 times slower on Unix for vector x of the length of ~ 500. read.table() also is very slow. is there

PowerCOM - HID PDC status

They should be detected out of the box (with the latest version from the trunk) through the 'usbhid-ups' driver. Note that I just added some additional commands to enable|disable|mute the beeper of the UPS.

PowerCOM HID PDC non-compliance
Alexey, I posted this before, but never got a reply. So I'm reposting this again. In the present HID PDC implementation by PowerCOM, expect problems with the non-compliant implementation of the DelayBeforeShutdown and DelayBeforeStartup pages. Third party applications will expect that these follow the HID PDC specifications if you name them like this (and break terribly in the

Hello all: I have a column of times in format x "16:30:00" "16:30:03" "16:59:00" etc which I need to convert into time variables and do some operations on. I do the command y<-strptime(x,"%H:%M:%S"). This executes almost istantly (for a column x of length 1000 in Windows, but in Unix, where I run my production jobs, this takes over 4 minutes. I

Does version 1.2 offer better support for usb devices? In previous versions, I was unable to get usb support working, even with the libusb-1.0 from Alexander Morozov, and was wondering if any progress has been made. How do I get BioExplorer to recognize this dongle (i. e. tell it what and where the driver is)? I am running wine-1.3.1, but had an attempt to patch 1.1.28 with Alexander Morozov's files for native Windows driver support. Didn't work (still "Cannot open HASP driver"). It appears that one of the drivers from the standard installation in Windows is called hardlock.sys; has this any connection to the error message: 'err: winedevice:ServiceMain driver L&q...
