Zed, you''re a moron :-)
Hi !
My mongrel just starting spitting out these nice lines:
The error occured while evaluating nil.accept. TELL ZED HE''S A MORON.
!!!!!! UNHANDLED EXCEPTION! You have a nil object when you didn''t
expect it!
Not sure what happened or why, but just FYI: Zed, you are a moron :-)
Happy holidays!

Rescuing svn repo from *IDIOTS*
Hello,
A moron has checked in a DVD iso into subversion.
How can I undo the damage, and make the repo a sensible size again?
Also, is there a cunning way to get subversion to say: "Oi! Moron!
This file is huge, you can't check it in!" ?

Daemonizing a camping server
I''m having no luck trying to daemonize mongrel running a camping server.
When mongrel daemonizes, I get:

flash and konqueror
I am stuck taking this stupid online training course from work. It just
sits there doing nothing with firefox, so I pulled up konqueror, and tell
it to lie and say it's IE. That works... until it gets to the content,
which some HR moron is *positive* desperately needs to be in flash.
I've gone into konqi's configuration, and told it to scan the correct
directory for plugins, and yet

Compromised
My wife's office server was compromised today. It appears
they ssh'ed in through account pcguest which was set up for
Samba. (I don't remember setting up that account, but maybe I
did.) At any rate, I found a bazillion "ftp_scanner" processes
running. A killall finished them off quickly, I nuked the
pcguest account, and switched ssh to a different port (which
I normally do

Spam from DIDForSale <contact-sales@didforsale.com>
didforsale.com have just sent me SPAM to the email address I use here.
What a bunch of stupid fuckwits. How to get a 100% cast-iron guarantee that
I'll never used their services. Morons.

ssh-agent decrypt
moronic monday (pst) question time.
this may have been covered elsewhere, and emphatically shot down (and
if so, I apologize), but I'm interested in using ssh-agent to decrypt
data.
ssh certificates are the most secure user auth token we have, and even
though ssh certs aren't chainable, we routinely use them to assert
identity to things other than ssh (eg. if you can present a cert

That is one problem -- I want those arrows back. AND wider scrollbars (if that
is possible -- skinny scrollbars might be fashonable, but are really hard to
use).
Another is the *lack*...

Need copy of Wiki Page on phpBB integration and signon
I am in Wiki hell thanks to the morons that are spamming the wili. I
went to check on the articles for integrating with phpBB as I was going
to code it today and it is gone. The back in time function doesn''t work
either. Does anyone have a copy of the wiki from this page?

Stupid tricks: preventable?
I just experienced something I'd rather not experience again.
Using a SPA-841 SIP phone connected to our Asterisk server, someone
dialed their own extension, answered, and then transferred the call
using the phone's "XFER" soft key. This does a SIP REFER.
Now, the phone has dropped out of the loop, and Asterisk has connected
the two call legs into a loop, as far as I can tell.

This guy must be an idiot
OK, can someone tell me what utterly moronic thing I am doing wrong?
I have two roughly identical Linux system running NUT, and one works
properly. The other almost does. The second system works well once
everything is up, but after booting, the system does not have connectivity
to the UPS. I have to manually run `upsdrvctl start backup`,
`/etc/init.d/nut start`, and `upsd` to get NUT

validations and directing errors
I am starting to play with validations as I want to catch errors before
SQL rejects inserts to the table which are ugly when nulls are sent to
''Not Null'' columns, etc.
If I do something in my model like...
validates_format_of :first_name,
:with => /^\w+$/,
:message => "you moron, enter a name"
I still end up

OT: programming language for morons (newbie friendly language in Open Source world)
Hi folks
I have more than 12 years experience with UNIX system administration,
but I am too stupid for programming. My only programming experience is
shell scripting. I tried to learn Java, but don't understand it
because it is too complicated for my limited brainpower.
What programming language should I learn?
A friend said that C-Sharp (Mono) is very simple. Is this true?

Zaptel CVS HEAD 08-05-2004 problems
I tried using CVS HEAD 08-05-2004 for zaptel/asterisk last night but
I'm having problems with zaptel. The last CVS HEAD I was using was CVS
HEAD 07-31-2004. (BTW... I'm a CVS moron... what command would I use to
get back to that version of HEAD because like an idiot I forgot to make
a backup copy of the CVS HEAD on my system before I install from the
new CVS HEAD. I tried cvs co -D

Basic AJAX Response (Mootools)
Hi,
I''ve done AJAX calls to Rails'' Controllers before yet never required to
generate a response back to the view. In this respect, I have tried to
keep it moronically simple and just add a node to see that it works, yet
the response doesn''t come through / isn''t interpreted as it should. Long
story short, code :
// Have to use Mootools to integrate a
