FC6 domU install problem
Hello,
Just getting my head around Xen. I''ve been able to successfully install
a Solaris dom0 and domU with the latest Solaris Xen code drop. Now I''m
moving on to Fedora Core 6 (64), and Its failing. I''m following the
instructions posted to
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/xen/docs/fedora-install.htm
But early in the install process I see GUI and shell

DomU with ZFS root on iSCSI - any tips?
Hi Folks,
Just wondering if anyone had any tips for trying to install a NV 94 DomU
with ZFS root to an iSCSI Target?
The iSCSI Target happens to be a NV 94 system with ZVOLs exported as the
Targets, but I wouldn''t think that would matter.
I tried this last week and the install seemed to complete fine, but when
the DomU attempted to reboot after install, I received a message to the

How to get the MAC address of a domU?
I''m creating a new domU using ''virsh create <xmlfile>'' without specifying the MAC address within the
XML file, under the assumption that the dom0 or hypervisor generates the MAC address for me. Next
I''d like to get the MAC address that was assigned to this new domU, and I don''t see a way to get
that information from the command line via virsh

I have this problem:

Any progress on it? Or are unit tests simply impossible for now?

xVM Ready for serious use ?
I currently have 2 x ESXi boxes that have VMs stored on a NFS/iSCSI debian lenny linux box. I had purchased a new whitebox server as an intended replacement for the linux box. I had always planned on installing opensolaris on the new hardware with this config;
2 x 640GB mirrored rpool
6 x 1TB in raidz2
This box was going to be built in parallel with the current server and I would have simply

Ztmonitor shows RX is always on. FIXED.
Err, stupid me. Seems like the phone is hungup, but when I start ztmonitor,
the line is picked up. I guess the line in India is pretty loud b/c the RX
bounces off the charts, changed it to (-4) and all my problems are solved.

E911 SIP or IAX providers?
Does anyone have any experience with any SIP or IAX providers that
support E911? I'd love to convert entirely to Asterisk at my house,
but the lack of emergency dialing has been a major hold-up for me.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Jabber/Asterisk Integration
Started playing with 1.4 and I'm curious what uses people have come up
with for the Jabber integration? So far I can think of presence based
call routing, but I'm sure there are other ideas. How are YOU using
the new Jabber features in 1.4? :)

ODBC voicemail questions
Before I head down the path of converting voicemail to an ODBC backend, I
have a couple questions that I was hoping someone would know.
1. Is the voicemail message stored in the datbase, or just it's
location/filename?
2. Does MWI propagate when using an ODBC backend?
3. If it does both of those things, wouldn't it work well for a centralized
voicemail system instead of a solution like

Community PBX?
I'm wondering if anyone out there is running a community PBX for their local
Asterisk User Groups or area Linux groups. I've been thinking of setting
one up but am stuck as to what services to provide that people would
actually find useful. I know that I could setup simple SIP->SIP to allow
everyone to call each other, but that's not generally too fun.

Agents getting "stuck" busy
Having a weird issue with some agents getting stuck busy on my system. Call
will come into the queue and the agent will hit DND, or be DND when the call
comes in (DND being the button on eyeBeam softphone, not a star code).
After the agent comes back from DND they will be "stuck" as busy in the
queue and I have to reload chan_agent.so in order to get them available.
I'm running

Setting hostnames in razor
All,
Is razor only really useful for configuring mass numbers of hosts? I''ve
been playing with it and one thing I''m not grasping is how to set a
hostname if I''m only building one host, say wiki01.foo.com. For each
server like that would I need a separate policy, or is there some other way
people are using to pre-populate specific host information to be passed to

voicemail (Just Dial(SIP/XXXX))
2. If a call comes in for that same agent to their DID, route to

3. All calls routed w/ DUNDi so the system doesn't care about which server
they log into

Not getting CID Name from PRI
Having a problem w/ not getting CID name from a PRI. CID Name appears in
the PRI debug, but even after a Wait(4) it still appears after the phone is
ringing. Here is the relevant info from my PRI debug output. Line 4 is a
NoOp showing me trying to echo Name and Number. Line 6 dials the
extension, and you can see callerid name get presented on line 29. Again,
there is a Wait(4) before the

system unresponsive after issuing a zpool attach
Today I attempted to upgrade to S10_U2 and migrate some mirrored UFS SVM
partitions to ZFS.
I used Live Upgrade to migrate from U1 to U2 and that went without a
hitch on my SunBlade 2000. And the initial conversion of one side of the
UFS mirrors to a ZFS pool and subsequent data migration went fine.
However, when I attempted to attach the second side mirrors as a mirror
of the ZFS pool, all

The Debian Plan
Hello Folks,
After all the troubles people have had with Debian I realize that what
I''ve done still isn''t enough for smooth sailing. I''m now going to hold
back the 0.3.13.4 release in order to put an end to the Debian problem
once and for all.
I''m currently planning the following changes:
1) Specific documentation for Debian. Debian will become the only

full (serial) console install of linux (somewhat o/t) ?
Hi Folks,
This is probably a little off topic, but I was wondering if anyone has
information on how to do a full (serial/xen) console install of Linux,
as a domU.
I''ve been able to through remote installs using Xen VNC which is OK, but
it would be really nice if I could do a text based install like I can
with Solaris.
Any pointers, anyone?
