Misreported values with newhidups
Okay, now that I've got NUT up and running with the newhidups driver, I can give it a quick shakedown. Most of the values look good, but are few are off. Here's what I get: elrond@foxstar:~$ upsc foxstarups@localhost battery.charge: 100 battery.charge.low: 10 battery.charge.warning: 50 battery.date: 3150/08/01 battery.mfr.date: 2005/03/22 battery.runtime: 1935 battery.runtime.low: 120

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 7 install fails -ve memory reported
Hi folks, I'm presently having my second foray into Wine. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 on a machine with 3GB memory. I'm having problems installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking 7 and would welcome some guidance. When I run "wine /media/cdrom1/autorun.exe" the install looks promising for a few moments, then an error message saying: "Your computer does not meet the minimum

rpm -q versus what's installed
...ns Nothing to do. Yum list available <package name> yields nothing needed. If rpm -q <list of packages> lists some that are "not installed" but every variant of yum install and yum list I've tried and googled claiims nothing more needs to be installed, either the OS is misreporting (I doubt that) or I'm missing something that is not easily being revealed, or that I haven't used in a long time and outright forgetting. I still need (per rpm -q): compat-gcc compat-gcc-c++ compat-libstsdc++-devel openmotif21 gnome-libs There has been a suggestion of the version of O...

wine reports wrong version
I have been running, first, codeweaver's wine and, just recently I built and installed wine-20010918-1. Nonetheless, no matter which version I have had, doing a "wine --version" produces "Wine release 20010824". I have uninstalled wine before switching from one version to another. Doing "rpm -qa |grep wine" shows only wine-20010918-1 installed. Somewhere

zpool will not import on a different controller
...ious computer (where they are all on a Intel 82801JI SATA AHCI Controller, using ahci driver), the pool is in fact just fine. the size of the drives is 1500301910016 bytes. but, under both of the pci-ide controllers, the size is appearing to be 1500295200768 bytes - 6,709,248 less. why would it be misreporting by over 6MB? Is there a way to fix this? it doesn''t seem to be the fault of either controller; I booted into linux and it sees the drives as the correct size. (as an aside, I am not sure how to properly get the size of the disk in opensolaris, so I did that by reading from the disk'...

R 2.6.2 is released
I've rolled up R-2.6.2.tar.gz a short while ago. This is a maintenance release and fixes a number of mostly minor bugs. See the full list of changes below. You can get it (in a short while) from http://cran.r-project.org/src/base/R-2/R-2.6.2.tar.gz or wait for it to be mirrored at a CRAN site nearer to you. Binaries for various platforms will appear in due course. For the R Core

Tripp-Lite OMNI650LCD
Hello all; I am new to this list. Recently we have been getting these cheap new Tripp-Lite "LCD" style UPS'es around here, and I was surprised to find the lack of Linux support. The model name is OMNI650LCD. Anyway, I tried the tripplite_usb driver and got a message instructing me to contact this mailing list. I might try to fix the problem myself, if I was more familiar with the

[lldb-dev] lldb stops on every call to dlopen
It is interesting that the stop reason on the thread that stopped is "trace". That's what you would expect returning from the single-step to step over the breakpoint. But it looks like we got a signal while single-stepping, but the stop reason was misreported by somebody. Ices 0.4 ices.cue file error
After several days of uninterupted operation (about 4 or 5 days I believe), ices-0.4 starts to return this error countless times: "Could not open cuefile [/tmp/ices.cue] for writing, cuefile not updated" This error eventually causes the stream to misreport the name of the currently playing song. Instead of reporting the current song, it reports the song found in the now defunct cue
