Hello all; I am new to this list. Recently we have been getting these cheap new Tripp-Lite "LCD" style UPS'es around here, and I was surprised to find the lack of Linux support. The model name is OMNI650LCD. Anyway, I tried the tripplite_usb driver and got a message instructing me to contact this mailing list. I might try to fix the problem myself, if I was more familiar with the NUT driver design. Can anyone give me any pointers, or will it be more sensible just to wait for an experienced maintainer? (The man page mentions this, but we probably know enough now to print a message in tripplite_usb.) You want the newhidups driver instead. I assume you are using the SVN tree? -- - Charles Lepple
You can run "upsmon -c fsd" to force a shutdown of your computer. (Assuming the driver, upsd, and upsmon are all configured, running, and monitoring the system correctly). This will only allow you to test whether the system shuts down correctly and the UPS shuts off at the correct moment. It will not reveal whether NUT would actually detect a low battery correctly. P.S. the "battery.voltage: 0.0" is a harmless bug that I have been planning to fix for a while. Upsmon actually only looks at ups.status, so this misreported value is purely cosmetic. -- Peter Mike Greaves wrote:> > On 11:40 2006-09-26 selinger@mathstat.dal.ca (Peter Selinger) wrote: > > Excellent.
