biplot
Hi,
I am wondering how to draw biplot with the same scales on both plots?
For example, if the two plots have much different scales, generally
the two x-y's are scaled so that the two plots are sitting in the
center automatically. How to disable this?
Thanks

larger than minimun MTU, forwarding via other node
First off, I would like to express my appreciation for the tinc software,
it has been such a great vpn solution for what i need, its amazing.
I am setting up another node on the vpn. "KVM" is my public facing node,
"MacbookAir" is my workstation, "NewNode" is my node i have recently
configured and the one with the issue presumably. NewNode and MacbookAir
are on the

- To avoid stalled connections, they are closed if the last package was sent
before maxlag*2 (in seconds, which is prebuffer*4).
- The server didn't check for the status of the client's socket before the
unblocking send(). This caused a disconnection at a minimun network
congestion, causing a broken pipe error (Linux 2.4 behaviour?) in the
network. I've just added a poll in sock.c.
- Added TCP_NODELAY to a nonblocking socket. It is said that it's improve
performance in Linux. TODO: check Win32 compatibility.

Playback + Replay Gain questions
I'm hoping to set up a headless system to playback my audio once I get back home after an extended leave. Ideally I'd just ssh in and use a curses based player to play back FLACs and mp3s. This leads me to a few quesitons:
1. What is the minimun processor speed needed to decode and play flac files? I have an old P100 I would like to use for the task if it is sufficient.
2. When using replay-gain option is there any way to have it adjust for a whole album or is it strictly computed on a track for track basis? Furthermore will decoding t...

Guaranteed bandwidth per connection
Dear all,
I''ve got a working HTB configuration with iptables, fwmark, SFQ etc.
At the moment, I can mark traffic and give it a maximum bandwidth and a minimum guaranteed bandwidth, so far so good.
What I would like to do is the following:
In stead of defining a min/max for a certain type of traffic (e.g. http, ftp whatever), I would like to define a "minimum guaranteed bandwidth

18 - 22 Kbps .... my dream!
I have asterisk -> INTERNET -> asterisk connection with IAX2 and I try
iLBC, gsm, g729 and speex and the minimun bandwidth was 38 Kbps for 1
channel.
What the parameters do you set to have this rate ???
Thank you.

that would probably be ok. if you turn on replaygain synthesis
or you have other effects in the processing chain then it might
get close and OS overhead could...

This is a good idea, and one I figured would get done. I'll take a look
at this closer.

Can you send me this patch alone? I still can not tell what you're
doing, as no one else has reported these kinds of problems.

running xen live cd in virtual box
...but it failed
before grub.
After some modification, the kernel is booted , but still failed at this
step:
"Xen is relinquishing VGA console". I guess because there is still error
in my config and maybe outdated wiki.
Can xen live cd running in virtual box ?
I ask this because i need minimun 2 days to download the CD from my
office. It is minimum time if everything goes fine.
And because it is thursday, then i will get the CD in sunday.
So, anyone have tried xen-live-cd in virtualbox ? if it is not possible,
i can save my energy to download this CD
Thanks

Distance between points and a polygon?
Dear R users,
I know that this could easily be solved within a GIS-package, but
sometimes it's more convenient to use R. So here's my question anyway...
Does anyone of you know about any R-functions/code that calculates the
distance between a number points and a polygon or polyline? I have
looked thru the different libraries that deals with spatial statistics
but haven't found

Re: Asterisk bandwidth tuning?
I have an installation that connects in a [very] good day at 22kbps, but the normal is
about 18kbps.
I use de ILBC codec, and also change in iax.conf the
trunkfreq = 20
to
trunkfreq = 30
It works, you can understand well the other person, but don't expect miracles or an
outstanding sound quality.

Mongrel 0.3.13 Update -- Code Review, Code Coverage
Hey Folks,
I''ve been holding off the official 0.3.13 release so that Luis can get
the win32 side very nice and clean. We fixed a major problem last night
so it''s only a short time before we get it out. Luis is working really
hard on it, so just be patient.
In the meantime, I''ve been doing a code audit of the Mongrel code as it
is now and fixing any little things I

log2() and -min() very quick question
I'm looking over good-code a post-doc in my lab wrote and trying to learn
how it works. I came across the following:
rel.abundance <- as.matrix(read.delim("rel.abundance.csv",row.names=1,as.is
=TRUE))
rel.abundance <- log2(rel.abundance-min(rel.abundance)+1)
I'm not sure what the second line is doing. I ran each line in R and
couldn't see a noticeable difference in

Gale-Shapley Algorithm for R
Dear R-helpers,
I'm not a speciallist in writing complex functions, and the function still
very rusty (any kind of suggestions are very welcome). I want to implement
Gale-Shapley algorithm for R Language. It is based on
http://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/2312726 Gale and Shapley (1962) , and it
has evolved to
