round off errors? (PR#13918)

OT: Reflash Mitel 5220 from MiNet to SIP
Have some 5220's that are MiNet only and I was wondering if anyone has ever reflashed it to MiNet/SIP. Tried to fake out the phone by redirecting it to a TFTP server with the SIP image, it loads it, freaks out, and reboots. tia

build.mim() from the minet package
Hi, I am trying to contstruct a mutual informtation matrix using the function build.mim() from the minet package: > build.mim(myData, estimator="empirical") and I have two questions. 1.) The estimator "empirical" computes the entropy of the empirical probability distribution. This probably means it is using this definition of the entropy: H = sum_x sum_y p(x,y)* log( p(x,y...

Mitel 5055 phone
Hello, I have seen the Mitel 5055 SIP phone mentioned a few times on the list, does anyone have any wonderful or horrible things to say about it? We are thinking about using them because they have many more programmable buttons than the Snom200 phones and are about $70 cheaper. Thanks, MATT---

Mitel 5010 +5220
I know this is not strictly an asterisk issue but it is related I guess. Just to let you know that after many calls to Mitel the consensus is that they will be releasing a new version of the 5220 that is dual boot (minet and SIP) next week or the week after. This firmware will only appear on NEW phones manufactured after the release date (no one could confirm but the 23rd of sept was mentioned). When asked if Mitel will ever plan to bring out an updated firmware for existing phones they said they had no plans,...

Mitel 5220 IP phones
Has anyone here had any experience with Mitel 5220 IP phones with Asterisk? Basic features are working good, but I'm looking for more advanced features like sending text to the display or having the lights on when an extension is in use via the hint subscription. Thanks.

A couple of questions for the Mitel gurus (phone-related - not systems)
Hi Folks, Just in case there are any Mitel gurus here: 1) Is it possible to convince a non-dual mode 5220 phone to 'upgrade' to the SIP firmware? I have inherited one that's Minet only. 2) I have a 5310 conference unit and 5235 phone in SIP mode, but someone's lost the connecting lead. Can anyone recommend anywhere in the UK for a replacement lead or confirm the pin-out so I can check whether a generic RJ-RJ lead will work without frying anything. Thanks Nigel Kendric...

Creating Queues on Asterisk server - Sending ingress calls off-net to either PSTN or another VoIP application - thoughts?
Hello, Long time subscriber/reader of this list - thank you for all the great ideas. Scenario: We currently provide a hosted ACD system using Mitel phones (speaking the Minet protocol) to an NCI based server solution. The logic behind this choice was the emulation of key system features etc... Many of our clients have asked for basic call queue functionality: - Agents having the ability to login to a specific queue - Call distributed to that queue based on criteria -...

Mitel 5010
Does anyone know if this phone can or does work with Asterisk ? I have a potential client who wants to throw away their current mitel ip system (keeps crashing on a regular basis - not good for a phone-based company), but are reluctant to purchase new handsets. Thanks. Julian.

Patton smartnode 463x (BRI) 25ms tail echo cancellation
Hi all We use pci/pci-e BRI cards in our installations. Due to echo problems (that was before Oslec and others), we quickly switched to cards with hardware-based EC. So we use exclusively Digium B410p cards that provide 64ms tail EC. For several reasons we'd like to switch to external BRI gateways like the Patton smartnodes (the price is getting really close to a B410p). I'm

Remote hold on PRI
Hi everybody We have a strange problem with several asterisk servers (Version 1.4.11) using PRI cards (tied to telco here in Belgium). Indeed we noticed that whenever a local user places an outgoing call through the PRI (and telco) to another IPBX (tied to telco using BRI or PRI), if the remote party places the call on hold, the caller hears the _local_ music on hold instead of the

A question about [homes]
Hello everyone. I have a question concerning the [homes] directive. I've set it up and everything's working fine but there's just a slight little detail that bothers me, and that is that when I browse my samba server off a w2k/wXP client I have two shares (I only have [homes] in my config file as far as shares are concerned) in the root view. That is \\sambaserver\homes and

Samba as the PDC and Windows 2000 clients - a question about Group Policys
Hello everyone First off, I'm not exactly a Windows 2000 expert (to clear that up) but I did manage to get Samba working as the primary domain controler and successfully log into the domain via a workstation running Windows 2000 (yay!). Mandatory and roaming users all seem to work fine but now I am stuck at permissions. Here's my exact problem: I have two groups on my Samba server -

Samba as PDC - No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.
Hello everyone, I?m trying to set Samba as a primary NT domain controller in my small home network. I?ve been going step by step trough the HOW TO on Samba PDC. When I got to the part where I should log a client (a windows 2000 workstation, no SPs installed) into the domain (called HOME) I keep getting ?No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.?. I guess I forgot to do something
