NetBios problem with Samba 2.x
I'm in a bit of a pickle, and I need some help. I'm forced to disable netbios on any machine that leaves the company because of how MS Exchange works over a VPN. I have Samba 2.x on two Compaq Tru64 5.x machines, each with one (public) share. With netbios enabled, the client machines can access the share with no issues. With netbios disabled, I get something like "No network

negative predicted values in poisson glm
Dear R helpers, running the following code of a glm model of the family poisson, gives predicted values < 0. Why? library(MASS) library(stats) library(mvtnorm) library(pscl) data(bioChemists) poisson_glm <- glm(art ~ fem + mar + kid5 + phd + ment, data = bioChemists, family = poisson) predicted.values = predict(poisson_glm) range(predicted.values) Thank you in advance for any hints. Information disclosure?
...mand today.. Let's say a privileged user (root) logs on, edit a sensitive file (e.g, a file containing a password, running vipw, etc) .. then runs clear and logout. Then anyone can press the scroll-lock command, scroll back up and read the sensitive information.. Isn't "clear" ment to clear the backbuffer instead of printing a full screen of returns? If it does, I'm not sure how that would effect a user running "clear" on a pty (telnet, sshd, screen, etc) .. Best regards, Jesper Wallin

use AT320 international call
Hi all, The firmware I used is pa168s_iax2_us_151011.bin. My problem is the handset dial before I finished key in all the numbers, no matter how fast I managed to press the keys. It appeared it always dialed immediately, for example "011862", when I actually ment to dial 0118620xxxxxxxx. Thus left the remaining numbers "0xxxxxxxx" unsent. The handset had its dial plan disabled. It configured to use iax protocol. My extensions.conf has this: exten=_01186.,1, dial(SIP/<voipprovider>,60) and it works fine with other iaxy and Cisco ATA....

file header
I was wondering if there was a way to recompile ogg123 so that it didnt look for "Ogg" at the start of each file. Ie change it so it looked for "Dog" or something. Why you ask? because in theory Im not ment to have any music files on my work computer NFI why but just cant. If I could mask an ogg file to look like another file then I could beat the system. Assuming that they even know what Ogg Vorbis is. the bits in the header I would like to change are Ogg vorbis Xiphophorus libVorbis cheers the...

read.table with ":" in column names (PR#8511)
...When using: > gomat<-read.table("test.txt") > colnames(gomat)[1] [1] "GO.0000051" > rownames(gomat)[1] [1] "GO:0000002" Which means that ":" is transformed into a "." !! This seems like Excel when it is trying to guess what I am really ment (and turning 1/1/1 into 1-1-2001). Furthermore, I found the following quite strange as well: > gomat2<-read.delim2("test.txt",header=FALSE) > gomat2[1,1:2] V1 V2 1 GO:0000051 GO:0000280 > as.character(gomat2[1,1:2]) [1] "8" "2" > as....

Strange behavior of atan2
...nstead of a missing value, the function atan2 returns an angle equal to 0 radians. I've searched through the help pages, the FAQ and the forum, but I did'nt find any explanation to this result.
