Passwords are not send over the wire, the user name is as are IP addresses. Use
a test user and setup VMs is a private test network if you care.

Logging in and off sessions in the dialplan
...to
authenticate a user with a dialed passcode which opens session that stays
active enabling the user to make and receive calls, until the user logs off
with another dialed passcode?
I am aware of the Asterisk application 'Authenticate', but as far as I know,
with this application the user meeds to dial his pin at each call he whats
to make, and that not what I need!
Some ideas?
Thanks,
Ricardo Carvalho.

Timeout issue
...ork (the link is based on GSM). Transfering one single file may need a
few minutes.
I use the optional parameter "--timeout=60", means to me that an IO operation
should not last more than 1 min. However, what rsync does is that it dies
(return value=30) as soon as _one_ file transfer meeds more than 1min
(everything works well if I set "--timeout=3600", which is not very secure
for a production environement).
I have looked at the archive and tried applying a patch from Neil
Schellenberger
(http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/rsync/2000-June/002466.html), but it didn'...

Ok. Done. Error desappear.
But why on the first DC it is not meeded?! It is because there's some
sort of ''master'' DNS, and so the first DC use by default RPC to the
local ''master''?
I'm curious... ;-)

Friendly Reminder: Would you please comment on my findings?
Ah, ok, "directory handle leases"... Ouch, I see... :-(
In this case, I will first repeat my test scenario with a Windows SMB2
server and report back here.
Based on the results of this exercise, you can then advise whether you
still want to move this to smb-technical and raise this with Microsoft
folks (who still might have a simple workaround "fix" to improve their

We have no delivery mechanism for the new plus kernel, which relies on
7.3 (or CR) packages until we actually release the 7.3.1611 tree and
centosplus repo for that tree.
I can build that kernel tomorrow and make it available if you really,
really meed it before the full 7.3 tree.

P-P probability plots?
Hi,
I see that there is a standard function for Q-Q normal plots in R but
couldn't find anything for normal probability plots. To my eyeballs
the latter are easier to interpret. Is there a function in some
library or is there a standard way to use qqnorm to get them?

paste tab and print
Dear all,
info = paste('a', 'b', sep='\t')
print(info , quote=F)
doesn't produce the same result with R201 and R220
(under Windows2000)
R 2.0.1 : [1] a b
R 2.2.0 : [1] a\tb
I did read the CHANGESR220 file and tried also the search
engine but couldn't find an answer.
I certainly missed the point, and apologize about that.
So if somebody could tell me how to

Bye, bye Windows .... almost
If I can get this application to run under Mandriva I can kiss Windows goodbye. Yeah.
The application is called MB Navigator. It is a stand alone stock trading application linking me to my brokers servers. The application installed great. Upon executing the program is starts up just fine then I get this error:

e2find: new ext2/3/4 tool for fast directory entry iterations
Hello ext users,
in a recurrent need to be able to traverse large filesystems (10-350M
inodes) backed by spindle-based RAID arrays, I tried several solutions
(like intercepting readdir and sorting by inode, playing with cache
hints, and such), to no avail.
Since I'm mostly facing ext3 and ext4 filesystems, I wrote a tool
based on libe2fs which replaces the 'find /' part by

Using Linux Virtual Midi with WINE does not work
Hi,
I have recently started using WINE with the wineasio driver to run my Windows audio apps. In Windows I did a lot of work using MIDI Yoke (a virtual 'MIDI cable' driver). The Linux equivalent is the snd-virmidi ALSA driver. I find, however, that WINE does not send MIDI messages throught the virmidi ports to Linux Apps.
I have tried this on Ubuntu 8.04 and Puppy Linux 4.0 using WINE

Joined a second DC, some glitches...
I've setup my second DC, following the samba wiki, without major
trouble.
Only three notes:
a) i've followed the suggestion to move idmap.ldb from the first DC to
the second (Rowland! Clap me! I've not sayed 'primary' and
'secondary'! ;-).
After that, as suggested by the wiki, i've done a 'samba-tool ntacl
sysvolreset' but:

[PATCH v4 00/37] Volting/Clocking improvements for Fermi and newer
We are slowly getting there!
v4 of the series with some realy good improvements, so I am sure this is like
95% done and only needs some proper polishing and proper Reviews!
I also added the NvVoltOffsetmV module parameter, so that a user is able to
over and !under!-volt the GPU. Overvolting makes sense, when there are still
some reclocking issues left, which might be solved by a higher voltage.
