Literature analysis
Dear all,
i am new in R. I am writing a review paper about batteries. However, i
am interested in analyzing all the papers by keywords, author,
references and year.
This could be done by "refviz" a software, which is only running on
windows machines and which is not free.
So my question to you is, is it somehow possible to write a script that
can do all of this work?
And if yes, with

Understanding the install kernel command line arguments
Hi,
I've been meandering through Google searches, simple-cdd source
and debian-cd code trying to figure it out. No luck. Can I get a
pointer to some documentation, please? :) Thank you.

Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney U value: outcomes from different stat packages
...CA and PAST packages?... are they
giving W2 (see my script) instead of U?
A crucial point is that the variant of the algorithm used for computation by
the packages is very rarely indicated in the output or documented in the
help facility and the manuals.
See also this link (I?ve found after a long meandering on the web) about the
comparison of ?wilcoxon mann whitney? u test outcomes from different stat
packages:

unified meta-data handling ogg/theora/vorbis
...orbiscomment to meander through the data-base based on meta-data content. The meta-data would probably have to be loaded into ram first for fast-searching.
It would be nice if server did not care if it was theora or vorbis, and just put appropriate meta-data onto it. Also it would be great is the meandering was pan-media so that it could choose a sound-clip here and a video there etc..
So asked on the IRC channel and got to where I am now. I also looked a bit at the oggskeleton wiki.
Since theora comments seem to be not as developed as vorbis comments, since there is no theoracomment (I know of),...

Trying to understand Remote desktops
This is something that has been long overdue for me to set up, and how I
am looking it hard in the face.
Back in '94, I was doing REAL X-Terminals into UNIX systems. Watching
simple mouse meanderings eat up all available bandwidth, and forget it
if you resized a window and had to download the new font.....
So here we are, in the modern times with GNOME (I chose that over KDE,
because), and Open Office, Thunderbird, and lots of other nice graphical
apps.
I want to run the apps on an app se...

Rails 1.1
It was said at one time that Rails 1.1 might be released in February. Is
that still likely?
Thanks,

Compiling custom "vmlinuz" PXE kernel?
Hello CentOS list, I still need help.
Does anyone know how I would go about creating my own "vmlinuz" PXE
kernel? I'm still trying to get the NUC6CAYH to load to a LiveCD, and I'm
getitng nowhere with Intel.
My company wants to do hundreds of these per month; we're not above paying
for professional help at this point.
My current line of reasoning is to get whatever

Engines 1.1.1
Since a minor change in Rails (renaming the file that the version is
stored in, namely) causes a bit of a hiccup for the Engines plugin,
here''s a new release, full of bug fixes and other nice things.
ALL users of Engines are advised to update their copy of the plugin to
get these fixes. The Engines plugin is fully backwards compatible with
Rails 1.0. Anyway - to update, please download

documentation suggestions: including FQDN seems to
Hi,
I''m new to Puppet, but it looks very good, so far.
We are going to use it for a multi-tier (DEV, QA, staging,
production) environment which is consists of web, app, and database
servers.
I have a couple of suggestions for the Puppet documentation that may
save others some time.
First, it seems node names MUST be FQDNs (hostname and hostname. will
not work). Since we are not using

How do I configure shorewall to work with VoIP SIP?
Hello,
Let me first start by saying Shorewall is awesome, and I use it
everywhere from single box firewall, to home network firewall, even to
our corporate firewall.
I am experiencing a problem getting my home firewall to work with my
BroadVoice VoIP connection. I use the Sipura SPA-2100 ATA (Analog
Telephone Adapter) that came with my BroadVoice account. This happened
when I tried to replace
