How to apitalize leading letters & else of personal names?
...ob, taking care only to capitalize the first letter of a word.
I am looking for a function that would recognize " |'|Mc|-" and capitalize
the first letter following these characters.
An example:
names<-c("jean-francois st-john","helene o'donnel", "joe mcintyre")
Desired result:
>"Jean-Francois St-John" "Helene O'Donnel" "Joe McIntyre"

this seems unfair to R and the package authors for AGU publications. AGU
does recognize some permanent data archives listed here
http://www.agu.org/pubs/datacent.html - maybe it would make sense to have a
mirror at one of these permanent archives for packages and versions.

instance variables in templates
Hey all,
Well... hmm... feeling pretty stupid here...
For some reason my controller instance variables are not displaying
in my templates. I''ve boiled it down to this test case.
class Rss::FilmController < ApplicationController
def display
@time = Time.now
end
end
and the template:

SLES kernel update
Hello CFS,
I was wondering if the new SLES10 kernel will be part of the 1.6.4
release. It appears to be tracked by:

As this contains a major security fix (privilege escalation), it is a
mandatory upgrade in many places and it would be nice to not have to
roll our own kernel.

However, as I'm one of the people with commit rights to cdrkit /
genisoimage I could probably add support for creating isohybrid-style
images directly inside genisoimage. Does that sound like a sensible /
reasonable / useful thing to do?

When I use the apply function to calculate a trend for a matrix of monthly time
series, it yields a different answer than when the trend is calculated one at a
time (by a factor of 12) rather than the identical answer as it should....

R 2.13.1 for Windows: error when loading (some) packages
...roj' is not installed for 'arch=i386'
I have no problem loading these three packages in the earlier versions of R
such as R 2.10.1 but "tgp" and "akima" require R 2.13.1 so you can see my
dilemma.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated,

multiple Host entries in ssh_config

again once one of the entries has turned it on. Take the notmydomain.com
case - it matches *, then matches *.*, but X11 forwarding is still
allowed. I presume this is due to the first match?
Is this the way it is supposed to work? If so, why?

IAXTEL toll-free gateway
I have been playing around with asterisk for a week or so now and
haven't had too much trouble getting things to work but one thing seems
to puzzle me. I have been patient hoping that there was a configuration
error on the server or that the toll-free gateway was down but nothing

Syslinux Aarch64 porting
Hi,
Is there any information available on porting Syslinux to 64bit ARM?
Specifically, I have a Cavium ThunderX board (Gigabyte R120-T30) which
boots using UEFI - b2b.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5864#ov
I'd be very interested in getting this to work, as currently the only
option for booting on this platform is Grub 2 or EFI Stub. If anyone can
point me in the right
