client certificate path hard coded?
Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to get my desktop talking to two libvirt hosts using qemu+tls and I've read that virsh relies on hard coded paths to the certificates.. which seems to be true.
Is there a way to tell virsh to use a different path to a certificate, or another way people solve this presently?
Cheers,
Ant

3TB External USB Drive isn't recognized
We have a 3TB external USB drive that I am trying to attach to some CentOS5
servers. I have tried an older Dell PE1950 and a newer R310 but neither one
seems to be able to read the drive. It works no problem on windows
servers/workstations and I was able to format with NTFS.
I know there are different methods for formatting large disks but this one
doesn't even seem to show up as a /dev/

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL

sambaShare used?
Just curious, is sambaShare objectClass used by Samba 3.4.2? Currently testing Samba 3.4.2 with OpenLDAP 2.4.11 backend in test environment. Couldn't find out much about it other than it has 2 attributes and is part of the samba.schema.
Thanks

Booting LINUX from external USB Hard Drive
Hi,
I would like to boot a LINUX system from an external USB Hard Drive.
Motherboard (ASUS P4P800) supports boot from USB with or without floppy
emulation. Is it possible to use syslinux for booting without any floppy
or CD, just from the external USB drive?

roadmap & development
Hi there,
I'm very interested in oVirt as a management interface for a VM setup we're building, however it seems as though there isn't much info on the product roadmap or active development. I'm wondering if anyone could point me to more information on the roadmap or commit activity on the project?
Regards,
Anthony

iSCSI storage pool questions
Hi All,
I've been trying to figure out the best way of using an iSCSI SAN with KVM and thanks to a helpful post by Tom Georgoulias that I found on this list (https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvirt-users/2010-May/msg00008.html), it appears I have a solution.
What I'm wondering is the following:
1) If I use an iSCSI LUN as the storage pool (instead of creating an LVM VG from this iSCSI

possible bug using -q -m -M combination?
Hello,
I've used oggenc with these options before:
$ oggenc -q3.0 -m 96 -M 225 somemusic.wav
But it's now encoding everything at 1.0kbps. The compression is *awesome*
but the found quality is somewhat lacking. Has something changed
recently, or am on crack (again)?
Cheers,
Geoff
Ps. I put the above example in the ifp-driver mailing list FAQ.. but now
I don't look so smart..
