...if it did this when there was overlap, but when the groups are separated at the 75% level, it doesn't make sense to me on why this happening. Any insites on solving this problem would be appreciated. If anybody wants to see the resulting plot, I'm happy to fax it to them. Chi-square tests in R 1.1.0
Hi, I'm running R 1.1.0 for Windows NT on a Dell Latitude laptop with 128 MB of RAM. In the previous version of R (1010) there was the ctest library and a few other functions to do a variety of chi-square tests in R. Have those been deleted in the current version (1.1), or do they just go by a different name in a different library? I originally downloaded (R 1.1) from Prof. Ripley's

query on lqs
Is there a way of getting a list of indices or something indicating which set of points lqs when doing a regression? The $bestone, seems to return only 2 pts. no matter how good or bad the fit. I checked the archive for the past few months, but didn't find anything. thanks in advance, Mark Hall -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help

hclust.identify problem
Having some problems with using hclust.identify on my data, I revert to trying it out on the example in the help manual. My result is still the same (as with my own data): data(iris) hci <- hclust(dist(iris[,1:4])) plot(hci) testx<-identify.hclust(hci) Error in rect.hclust(x, k = k, x = x$x, cluster = cluster[, k - 1], border = "red") : k must be between 2 and 0

I have a suspicion this is something readily done in R though... Are there any people out there using R for geochemical data? apologies
I apologize for sending to the R-list a message I was trying to forward to my other e-mail account. The problem is my lack of reading abilities of kanji characters for the e-mail software. (Yes, I'm working on that here in Japan). Apologies once again, Mark Hall -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read

a MANOVA type function
Hi I am using R for Windows. I was curious if there was a multivariate anova function or something like the manova in SPLUS for Windows 3.2 package? If there is, I am clearly looking in the wrong places... question on bootstrapping mean and sd
Not so much an R question, as a methodology one... Dealing with some reviewers comments, one of the reviewers suggests bootstrapping my group means and standard deviations since 2 of my 3 groups have a small sample size. My data is geochemical data, and a variety of clustering methods finds 3 groups in the data. One group has 50 members, another group has 10 members and another group 12

The printer is an EPSON LP-9300. I'm printing directly from the window one gets in R by typing plot(...). Another quick note, its
