unistalling gplpv from win7x64 gives BSOD
I have installed the 210 gplpv (debug), when I try to update them with current gplpv I get a BSOD even so when I try to uninstall them. Now I have made a bootentry that specifies NOGPLPV, what gives me a bootable system after such a crash, I found (uninstalling the leftover driver packages after getting bsod during uninstall of the main package) that uninstalling the net driver leads to bsod. Now

install sxce as paravirtual guest
I have tried to define a domain or using virt-install both failed. Could some one give me the correct command to do this? I used: virt-install --nographics --paravirt --os-type=solaris --os-variant=opensolaris --ram 1024 --name cam-host --disk path=/dev/dsk/c0t600A0B800049E902000008EB4A9CE744d0p0,driver=phy -l /export/media_images/sol-nv-b121-x86-dvd.iso thx, florian

building xvm-3.4 gate on indiana
There seems to be no list of needed packages, when starting with a fresh opensolaris dev (b121 today). hg gmake I guessed by now. Additionally the stuff mentioned here: http://opensolaris.org/os/project/indiana/building_on/ But are there further packages needed? Maybe some one should add a verified list to the building howtos... Florian

Rebooting Windows guests when running xm reboot
I just installed Windows 2008 x86_64 on Xen 3.2 that I compiled from source on CentOS 5.1. Are there any windows guest tools available that run shutdown when I issue xm reboot in dom0? Problem booting xen 4.1.2 on Athlon 64 X2
Adding apic_verbosity=debug gives me that (hope nothing miss-typed as I have no serial console on this box). I found a lot of suggested workarounds: - noapic as suggested in output gives an noapic isn''t support - acpi_skip_timer_override has no effect at all Thx, Florian (XEN) Initing memory sharing. virt-manager in b129
It is a pleasure to see what it has become, but - it scrambles the vnc-sessions (start virt-manager, open a win console, close all, start virt-manager again try open vnc-console => fail, fixed by xm vncviewer <name> => fail, again => works, also next time in virt-manager => same problem again) - Is it currently possible to connect to other xvms running next to the machine and may

Xen 4.1: x86/ucode: fix for AMD Fam15 CPUs
x86/ucode: fix for AMD Fam15 CPUs Remove hardcoded maximum size a microcode patch can have. This is dynamic now. The microcode patch for family15h can be larger than 2048 bytes and gets silently truncated. xVM Ready for serious use ?
I currently have 2 x ESXi boxes that have VMs stored on a NFS/iSCSI debian lenny linux box. I had purchased a new whitebox server as an intended replacement for the linux box. I had always planned on installing opensolaris on the new hardware with this config; 2 x 640GB mirrored rpool 6 x 1TB in raidz2 This box was going to be built in parallel with the current server and I would have simply

What does viridian=1 do?
Hi I''m wondering what does viridian=1 option actually does? I installed Xen 3.4.1 from Gitco''s and installed Windows 2008 R2 (standard) server, 64-bit, which supposed is hyper-v aware? But looking device manager i dont see anything special, still all using emulation drivers. Should i install Hyper-V IC? Terveisin/Regards, Pekka Panula, Net Servant Oy

pv-grub Solaris support
Hello all, I''ve patched pv-grub to allow it to boot a Solaris PV domU using an unmodified menu.lst. The attached patch has been tested with various Solaris versions (Solaris 11 Express, OpenIndiana 151a, OpenSolaris 134, Nexenta Core 3.0.1; all 64-bit). I appreciate your feedback. The patch consists mainly of Oracle''s grub modifications, which add ZFS support and

gplpv cert
James to use your signature we need the complete signature chain up to your self signed. Otherwise windows can''t check the signature. You delivered only a self signed root and the signing cert. But it looks like that you have at least one certificate in between. Florian _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

trouble with xennet gplpv in win7x64 xen(xvm)3.4
I have some real problems with the xennet, when disable and try to enable the nic I get a BSoD due to ndis.sys Further more the system still fails to get an IP using dhcp. The box is after a lot of cleanup, now on the 217 GPLPV. I could provide additional details on demand next week. (I''m unsure to get the machine earlier in my reach due to an on site power outage) thx, Florian
