I'm attempting to do a PXE boot and at the point where it tries to load the kernel the process hangs. My default config file looks like this: default linux label linux kernel vmlinuz append initrd=initrd.img ramdisk_size=10000 ks=nfs:172.16.0.1:/kickstart/ks/cfg Does this look like a problem with the kernel or with the append line? ...e for file sharing ACE entry operations? Is there something in smb.conf on the server we could tweek to tackle this? A newer version of Samba is possibly an option, but I generally like to leave boxes that have been running rock solid alone. I'd appreciate any info on this one. Thanks -Eric Malkowski

...problem is solved because is uses local /etc files that are populated by the client side daemon -- it's great since only one machine (the master server) has the potential slowness and in my situation that machine doesn't need to be fast -- it's job is mainly to do the mappings. -- Eric Malkowski
