...hair I have left out of my head and given the brain-power of this mailer, I thought someone might know what is going in here. The issues is this? I check the message counts for a given account using doveadm and get a given number. I then configure the same account in 3 mail clients: Apple Mail, Mailmate, and Thunderbird. Both the Mailmate and Thunderbird message counts match exactly with the doveadm numbers. Apple Mail is low in almost all cases. I have tried every idea I have found including: ? Delete and recreate the mail account ? Rebuild mailbox ? Resync mailbox ? Reindex Spotlight ? Remov...

...uth: Debug: auth client connected (pid=17388) When I try to connect using either the iOS Mail app, or Outlook mail app, nothing happens at al with ssl, and if I use plain login the iOS device tells me I have either the username or password wrong - which I haven't. Connection from Mac with MailMate works fine. iOS doesn't. so I'm stumped. I can't see why this is refusing the connection.

Hi, Using Mac Mail with 9 mail accounts, more than 150 folders, and 1000s of mails, I get far too many problems lately, and not only on dovecot, so I would say the problem lies with Mac Mail, and even more if you installed Yosemite. As far as I know dovecot handle very well accounts with 100000s email even if the size is very big. And BTW, looking for a fast and reliable mail client for Mac, to
