annyone interested in "ogg streaming" maillinglist
WHY? because most of the Desktop users are intersted in ogg as replacment for .mp3 and not as astreaming alternative to Real (which I think is very important)! because most of the discusion here is concetrated on licencing/implementation and I would hate to add more to it (for example I hate discussions over winamp topics ... since I don't think it is very important to the ogg as

Samba 2.2.8a :: High CPU usage
Hello, I'm facing a silly problem right now. I've installed samba 2.2.8a on a linux box, which is running SuSE 8.0 with a 2.4.20 kernel. The problem is that the performance of the samba installation is quite poor on this system. As we tried to figure out what the reason is, we saw that the smbd daemon is running with a cpu usage up to 98%. That seemed strange to me and I have no clue

Dovecot + libsodium
Hi, Thank you very much for creating and maintaining dovecot! In my scenario, I want to use the password hash algorithms provided by libsodium: https://download.libsodium.org/doc/ So my difficulty is to have dovecot support libsodium's hash algorithms, particularly: crypto_pwhash_scryptsalsa208sha256_str On the sodium maillinglist I asked for help and received an adjusted dovecot code,

Thanks in advance Thomas Thread from May 2003 (http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/03a/5604.html) Hello R Users! I'm using lattice to produce some graphs with logaritmic y-scales. RPM Unpacking??
Hey there, I downloaded the Kernel Source 2.2.17 from the ext3 site, however I can't seem to figure out how these rpm's work (I don't like RPM's and I rather not use em either :-( no offense :-)) and I kinda miss the good old simple .tgz files which show me where they extract and I can compile myself n stuff. Anyways I tried rpm -iv <package name> then some stuff happened

Limiting mountpoints
Hi List, I'm pretty new to IceCast and I've got a question, Is it possible to limit the amount and types of streams (mountpoints) a user creates? Scenario: I've got several users (say 10), that I want to be able to stream through my server. But to limit the bandwith costs I'd like to limit the amount of data they stream. - The mount specific options will allow me to

Re: kerberos/samba/solaris
Hi, I found a solution that worked for me: My kerberos installation wasn't in the $PATH though one should think the binaries are recognized by using the --with-krb5=/path flag :-( I simply exported my $PATH including the '/path/to/kerberos/bin' and voila, everything is fine :-) best regards ~christoph -- /* Christoph Beyer | Office: Building 2b / 23 *\ * DESY

rebuilding an OpensourceVideoconferencechattool Hello richard, Experts
Hello richard, Experts , Sorry for my offtopic post, During our maillinglist disscussions in the emac-list i thought of making an announcement. Long times ago, there was a smart video chat tool, called CuSeeMe. I am tied a little bit on the tool. Nowadays with the all this Streaming Servers the time for video chat tools is coming back with power. So, I thought, it would be a smart idea

Anybody tried implementing different streaming protocols yet?
Hi, does anybody know if somebody tried implementing things like rtsp, mms or similar in icecast so far? I heard some rumors from people complaining transmissions over http or not "that secure" because using a wget you can easily write them to disk. They suggested using real servers or something - but I wonder if its (easy?) possible to implement another already widely used

[FEEDBACK] Governance of GlusterFS project
Hello everyone, We are in the process of formalizing the governance model of the GlusterFS project. Historically, the governance of the project has been loosely structured.
