Hi, It is not important how long I have been moderator for this mailinglist. Thing is that I'm thinking about stepping back. How would like to help the Syslinux project by moderating this ML? Virtual mailboxes do not look into subfolders
Hi all, I have virtual mailboxes set up as "Smart Folders" to show me messages tagged with certain keywords. For example: # ~/Maildir-virtual/fwp/dovecot-virtual File MailingLists/* KEYWORD @fwp Messages get picked up from the File mailbox, but not for the sub-mailboxes inside the MailingLists mailbox. What am I doing wrong? Wrong separator? And how can I debug this? Everything else is working fine. Thanks a lot! Paul

Using an external database behind a firewall
Hi everyone, There''s a separate database I''m using to get mail group info for our users (Sympa), and I''ve got Rails configured to pull data directly from it via an entry in database.yml The issue we''re having is that the database server in question is behind an internal firewall that has idle timeouts set at 30 minutes. If the connection isn''t used

Dovecot/Sieve shortcuts?
..."; | > stop; | >} | > | >For all my mailing list traffic. That seems(!) to catch most of them. | | I can't remember where I got the original algorithm (and, in particular, | the ordering) from, but I've been using the attached sieve script for a | while with numerous mailinglists. It uses the 'regex' module to parse | the mailing-list name from the headers (with various attempts to handle | most of the major mailing-list applications). The listname is | lower-cased (for consistency) and the message is filed into that folder (creating the folder if necessary). This m...

Public Folder for mailinglist with deliver
Hello Everybody, I'm looking for a nice way to implement the following: We are running a mail server for system users who are having their own mailbox. Now there's the idea to subscribe for a few mailinglists which are then available for the user per shared/public folder. So they can simply subscribe and unsubscribe with their MUA. For every mailinglist subscription there should exist an own email account with own mail directory. The namespaces are already working (in a test environment). But I haven&...

I changed the separator from . to / and it still seems to work.
Hello, Just as an experiment I changed the separator from . to / restarted dovecot (v2.1.1). When adding an existing account with lots of mail folders to thunderbird everything still seems to work. My directory layout is like this: .Info.mailinglists .Info.mailinglists.Horde .Info.mailinglists.modperl .Info.mailinglists.PDNS .Info.mailinglists.Sogo .Info.mailinglists.tinc .Info.mailinglists.Zabbix I added a new folder to the horde mailing using thunderbird list and got an extra folder .Info.mailinglists.Horde.testinhorde Does this mean the...

Getting rid of the How_Do_I_Become_a_CentOS_developer page
Hi, I removed the above page before, but I saw Russ added it again. Let me explain why I think that page needs to die. It offers little insight to how one can become a developer. What is a CentOS developer ? That's the first confusing part. The page answers the question with a: "show competence and things will happen" We have a much better Contribute page that highlights ways

Mailinglist moderation
Hi, I think the time (150 messages and counting) has come to ask someone of the CentOS team to start moderating this list. I don't mind people discussing whatever topic they like, but not at the expense of the mailinglist and its members. I don't think the topic really doesn't matter in these discussions, and if done in private they would stand for long anyway. I would propose
