nscd
...m, I get server not found. With a lot of work, I, my manager, and the other admin, found that setting options edns0 in /etc/resolv.conf fixed it - I suspect that the network folks updated their internal nameservers (which are M$) about that time... but... we got this Thurs. Friday, I went to look, lunchtime, at a story, and back to the same. Later, and I think I was playing around, it came back. Just now, over lunch, it failed... until I restarted nscd. My manager tells me it's caching... but it seems to be caching momentary failures. So: has anyone else seen oddness that might be related to ns...

CentOS 7.2, nouveau won't go away
...opposed to the 10-yr-old one tht died: this is your tax dollars at work, US citizens... and, btw, I see among the things this researcher's working on is modelling the Zika virus....). I was busting butt to get him running; as it was, he couldn't work over the weekend, and it took me until lunchtime to get him up and running for now (I *adore* NAC on the switches....). Now that he's running, I just looked, and I see that the legacy 304 kmod-nvidia driver should support it, so, next time he's out for a day, I'll try installing that. Thanks for the reminder. mark

Xen Summit #5 : 14/16 Nov 2007 Santa Clara
Folks, I''m happy to report that dates have been finalized for the next Xen Summit: November 14-16 2007; Santa Clara CA, USA Sun Microsystems have kindly agreed to host the event at their Santa Clara campus. The plan is to start at 1pm on Wednesday the 14th, then run until lunchtime on Friday. The next steps are to put together a program committee and send out a formal Call For Papers, but it would be great if folk could already start thinking about drafting abstracts on interesting new xen features and projects, software built on top of Xen, new uses for virtualization, pr...

Broadvoice problems
Is anyone else having problems with them? Until today everything was working fine. But now dtmf is not working on incoming calls. Any ideas? I tried calling them and their voicemail is not accepting answers. Is there another source for DIDs in the 314 or 636 area codes? Especially a company that supports something besides ulaw. I am going to hate switching numbers again, my wife is

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] RFC: Promote AArch64 to be built by default

Here's a report of the noticed failures with status (important/outstanding ones at the top). Feel free to do anything from telling me about more problems to reverting the patch when llvm.org comes up. http://lab.llvm.org:8011/builders/clang-x86_64-ubuntu-gdb-75/builds/1892: Didn't re...

Feature Request: GotoIfTimeWithOffset
Hi, When I was testing an IVR, I realized I miss a function I would call GotoIfTimeWithOffset. Today, this IVR is using function AEL GotoIfTime in several places. The problem is if it's 11pm at the moment I'm testing this IVR, I can't nicely test the 9am or 2pm branch. GotoIfTimeWithOffset would get 2 incoming arguments : - the first is a time range (just like GotoIfTime), - the

Threading & database connections.
Hello all. Bear with me, there is a Mongrel question in here ;) I have been having some fun with database connections and ruby. Long story ( Found here: http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/56047 ) short: I was making far too many in my application. I eventually fixed this (I thought) and when running webrick there were only ever two connections (One to each database) no matter how many users, this

RWinEdt installation problems with Vista
Hi, I was trying to install the package"RWinEdt" in my computer with Vista OS. Once I finished the installation, R just cannot load this library at all, reporting some error information. I reinstalled R and Winedit and reloaded this package. RWinEdt seemed to register in the computer but never work again. I searched some related information on internet. I did try using administer

constrained input for optimization algorithm
Hi all, It seems that optimization algorithm, optim, tries to find optimized parameters within defined lower and upper bounds. In my problem, all the parameters are integers. My question is that if there is any means that I can let "optim" only tries mutual exclusive integers. To be specific, I am giving an example here. I tried to find a set parameters with five elements with the

1.0.9 - can't get link up, 1.0.7 works fine.
Last tuesday I moved the asterisk server from 1.0.7 to 1.0.9, while leaving the zaptel drivers at 1.0.7 because it was a "lunchtime" update. This is a box with two TE405Ps in it, and all eight ports in use. Today I unloaded the 1.0.7 drivers and replaced them with 1.0.9 and oh boy... two of the 8 PRIs didn't want to come back, I got a million of FCS errors over the console and I got three new messages in /var/log/mes...

A More efficient method?
Dear Rhelpers, Is there a faster way than below to set a vector based on values from another vector? I'd like to call a pre-existing function for this, but one which can also handle an arbitrarily large number of categories. Any ideas? Cat=c('a','a','a','b','b','b','a','a','b') # Categorical variable
